Bybit said it has opened access to more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds for eligible users, allowing trading funded with USDC through a brokerage arrangement that executes orders via Alpaca Securities. The Oct. 12 rollout brings names including Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, Micron Technology and the Invesco QQQ ETF into the platform’s trading interface, alongside its existing cryptocurrency products.
The service is available in permitted jurisdictions to users who complete the required know-your-customer verification, Bybit said. Orders are routed through Infra Capital Limited, the Mauritius-regulated introducing broker operating the Bybit Stocks service, while U.S. securities clearing, settlement and custody are handled by Alpaca Securities LLC, which does business as Alpaca Clearing.
Bybit said Alpaca is a FINRA and SIPC member and holds the underlying securities in custody. The structure gives eligible users economic exposure to the underlying stocks and ETFs rather than to derivatives or synthetic versions of those assets, according to the company.
Usdc becomes the funding rail for share trading
The product allows users to use USDC, a dollar-linked stablecoin, to fund transactions in U.S. equities and ETFs. That approach connects a crypto-native account balance to regulated brokerage execution without requiring users to move funds through a separate retail brokerage interface before placing a stock order.
Cash dividends paid by supported stocks and ETFs will be converted from U.S. dollars into USDC and credited to a user’s unified trading account, Bybit said. Stock dividends will instead be reflected in a user’s position. The treatment of dividends means that corporate distributions can remain within the platform’s USDC-based account structure rather than being paid out as dollars.
Bybit said stock splits will be applied to user holdings according to the relevant corporate action. Some corporate actions may be restricted, according to the service disclaimer, and eligibility remains subject to the Bybit Stocks terms and conditions.
Voting rights are not included in the initial release. Bybit said it plans to add them in a later phase, leaving users with economic exposure and dividend treatment for supported holdings but without an immediate mechanism to vote in shareholder matters.
Fractional orders and extended trading sessions
Eligible securities can be traded in fractional amounts, Bybit said, allowing users to buy part of a share rather than needing to purchase a full unit. For high-priced securities, fractional trading can lower the amount of capital required to establish a position.
The platform also advertises 24/5 access for available products, covering U.S. pre-market, regular-market and after-hours trading sessions. U.S. equity markets do not operate continuously through the weekend, but the expanded weekday schedule gives users access beyond standard regular-market hours.
Extended-hours access can be useful when companies release earnings or other material announcements outside the main U.S. session. It also comes with different market conditions from regular trading, including periods in which fewer orders are available, potentially producing wider differences between quoted buying and selling prices.
Bybit said it will charge zero commission on eligible stock purchases and sales. The company did not describe the offering as cost-free in all circumstances; its terms, risk disclosures and the conditions applicable to individual securities remain relevant to users of the service.
A brokerage layer added to Bybit’s trading menu
The stock service adds a conventional securities product to a platform built primarily around digital-asset trading. Bybit said the offering will sit beside crypto spot and derivatives markets, as well as traditional-market products available through its MT5 platform, tokenized equities and TradFi perpetuals.
The distinction between the new stock product and tokenized equity products is material. Bybit describes its stock service as providing direct economic exposure to the underlying security through its introducing-broker arrangement and Alpaca’s clearing and custody services. Tokenized equities and perpetual contracts, by comparison, can use blockchain-based tokens or derivative structures that may track a stock’s price without carrying the same ownership framework.
The launch therefore places Bybit closer to a multi-asset trading interface, where an eligible user can hold USDC and access cryptocurrencies, equity-linked products and now U.S.-listed shares and ETFs within connected account systems. It does not remove the regulatory boundaries around securities access: availability depends on jurisdiction, identity verification and the product’s terms.
Bybit said it has more than 80 million users worldwide. The company’s global user figure does not indicate how many users are eligible for the stock offering, since securities access is restricted in certain jurisdictions and requires KYC approval.
Custody and corporate actions shape the user experience
The use of a U.S. clearing broker gives the service an established securities settlement and custody arrangement, but it also means the user experience is governed by the brokerage chain and corporate-action rules rather than by the self-custody model familiar to many crypto users.
Alpaca Clearing provides clearing, settlement and custody for the U.S. securities involved, according to Bybit. Infra Capital Limited acts as the introducing broker and is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under licence number GB23202169.
Users considering the service will need to examine how its account terms address matters such as transfers, trading restrictions, corporate actions and the planned introduction of voting rights. Bybit’s disclaimer also warns that capital is at risk and that users may receive back less than they invest.
The product gives eligible Bybit customers a route from USDC balances to U.S. stocks and ETFs through a regulated brokerage infrastructure, while retaining the operational constraints of securities markets and the risks attached to individual equity positions.
