Here are answers to some of the most common questions about using Toobit Futures Copy Trading.
Before you start copying a trader, set your copy amount, TP/SL, and total investment amount based on your financial situation and risk tolerance. Make sure you fully understand the risks involved before you begin.
1. Will my execution price always be the same as the trader's?
Not necessarily. Due to market movements and differences in order execution timing, your actual execution price may differ slightly from the trader's. The difference can be more significant during periods of rapid market volatility.
Always refer to the actual execution records in your account for the final execution price.
2. Will my P&L always be the same as the trader's?
Not necessarily. The Copy Trading system replicates the trader's opening and closing actions, but your actual P&L and returns may differ because of differences in account balance, execution price, position size, and order execution.
Common factors include:
-
Copy settings and account balance: Insufficient available balance, a copy amount below the minimum order size, reaching the total investment limit, and other account or setting restrictions.
-
Order execution: The trader's order may be partially filled, or your copy order may exceed the allowed slippage range.
-
Market conditions and manual actions: Market volatility may result in different execution prices. Your P&L may also differ if you manually adjust your position or close it early.
The trader's historical performance and returns are for reference only and do not guarantee the same results for copiers.
3. What's the difference between fixed amount and fixed ratio mode?
Toobit Futures Copy Trading supports fixed amount and fixed ratio modes.
Fixed amount
Each time the trader opens a position, the system uses the fixed amount you set to open your copy position. This mode makes it easier to control how much you allocate to each trade and is suitable if you want to set a specific amount for each position.
Fixed ratio
The system calculates your copy order amount based on the proportion of the trader's opening cost relative to their account balance. This allows your copy positions to more closely reflect the trader's capital allocation ratio. However, the actual order amount may still be affected by your available balance, minimum order size, total investment limit, and other applicable restrictions.
Regardless of the mode you choose, a copy order may fail to execute if the calculated order amount is below the minimum order size for the trading pair.
4. What Copy Trading settings can I configure?
When you start copying a trader, you can configure settings based on your preferences, including:
-
Copy amount: Amount per trade and total investment amount
-
TP/SL
-
Trading pairs
-
Copy Trading with 0 slippage
-
Other advanced settings
Available settings and restrictions may vary by Copy Trading mode. Please refer to the Copy Trading page for the options currently available to you.
5. What is the total investment amount?
The total investment amount is the maximum amount of funds you allocate to copy a specific trader.
Once the funds allocated to the trader's copied positions reach this limit, the system will stop copying new opening signals from that trader. Existing positions will not be closed automatically as a result.
To continue copying new trades, go to [Copy Trading] > [My Copy Trading] to adjust your settings and make sure you have sufficient available balance in your account.
6. What is Copy Trading with 0 Slippage?
For supported futures trading pairs, when Copy Trading with 0 slippage is enabled, the system attempts to execute your copy orders at the same execution price as the trader's orders.
An additional price protection fee may apply. The applicable fee and supported trading pairs are subject to the information displayed on the platform.
Please note that 0 slippage does not guarantee successful order execution. Copy orders may still fail due to insufficient market liquidity, market maker rejection, or other execution conditions.
For more information, see:
7. Why did my copy order fail?
A copy order may fail for several reasons:
-
Trader-related restrictions: The trader has reached the maximum number of copiers, their lead trading status has changed, or the trader's order was only partially filled and did not meet the conditions required for copying.
-
Copy settings or account restrictions: Insufficient available balance, reaching the total investment limit, a copy amount below the minimum order size, or a trading pair that does not match your copy settings.
-
Market and order execution conditions: Market volatility, insufficient liquidity, slippage exceeding the allowed limit, or other order execution restrictions.
If a copy order fails, check your available balance, copy settings, and the current trading status.
8. Can I set TP/SL for Copy Trading?
Yes.
You can set TP/SL in your Copy Trading settings or for an active copied position. Once your TP or SL condition is triggered, the system will place a closing order.
Due to market volatility, market depth, and execution speed, the actual execution price may differ from the trigger price you set. During extreme market conditions, the execution price may deviate significantly from the trigger price.
9. Can I close a copied position manually?
Yes.
Go to [Copy Trading] > [My Copy Trading] > [Current Copy Trading] and select the position you want to close.
After you manually close a copied position, the position will no longer copy the trader's subsequent closing actions. However, as long as the copy relationship remains active, new opening signals from the trader may still be copied.
10. How do I edit or stop Copy Trading?
Go to [Copy Trading] > [My Copy Trading], find the trader you are copying, and select [Edit] to adjust your copy amount, TP/SL, total investment limit, or other available settings.
To stop copying the trader, select [Cancel copy]. Once canceled, the system will no longer copy new opening signals from that trader.
Canceling Copy Trading does not necessarily close all existing copied positions automatically. Before canceling, check the instructions displayed on the page to confirm how your existing positions will be handled and avoid leaving futures positions open unintentionally.
11. What fees apply to Copy Trading?
Copy Trading may involve:
-
Futures trading fees and funding fees;
-
Profit sharing with the trader;
-
Price protection fees for Copy Trading with 0 slippage;
Futures trading fees are charged based on the futures fee rate applicable to your account. The profit-sharing ratio is set by the trader and subject to the platform's rules. You can check the applicable ratio before starting to copy a trader.
In general, profit sharing is calculated only when Copy Trading generates realized profits that meet the applicable settlement conditions. For details on settlement methods and rules, refer to the trader's page and the latest Toobit rules.
12. Why is my risk ratio different from the trader's?
Your risk ratio may differ from the trader's because your account balance, opening amount, execution price, and available balance may not be the same.
Differences can become more significant if you have insufficient balance, fail to copy some orders, manually close positions, or adjust your copy amount.
Always use the margin, liquidation price, and risk ratio shown in your own account to assess your position risk. Do not use the trader's figures as a direct measure of the risk of your own positions.
13. How can I manage my Copy Trading risk?
Copy trading does not eliminate the risks of futures trading. To manage your risk:
-
Look beyond short-term returns. Consider a trader’s overall performance rather than relying solely on recent returns.
-
Set your limits carefully. Set your copy amount, total investment amount, TP, and SL based on your risk tolerance.
-
Monitor your positions. Keep track of your open positions and account risk, and avoid putting too much capital behind a single trader.
-
Stay alert during volatile markets. Review and adjust your position risk when market conditions become highly volatile.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Even when trades are successfully copied, you may lose part or all of your principal.
Risk warning
Digital assets and futures trading involve significant risk, and prices can fluctuate sharply within a short period.
Copy Trading does not constitute investment advice and does not guarantee profits. Please ensure you fully understand the risks involved and trade responsibly based on your own risk tolerance.
