Four.meme launches 4Stock and BNC4 tokenized stock

2026-09-08 08:34

Four.meme’s new 4Stock token format produced an immediate and extreme pricing gap on Sept. 8, as its first issuance, BNC4, traded at more than $30—roughly 10 times the quoted value of the CEA Industries shares it references—while a related meme token briefly reached a $90 million market capitalization.

BNC4 is designed to track CEA Industries, which trades under the ticker BNC, on a 1:1 share-count basis. Four.meme said the format uses a custodied account to acquire the underlying shares before issuing a matching number of tokens on BNB Chain. Yet the launch showed that a matching supply model does not ensure that the token’s secondary-market price stays close to the equity price, particularly when minting is manual and U.S. markets are closed.

The gap narrowed after the initial surge. On-chain monitoring posts cited in the original report showed the BNC4-linked meme token falling from a peak valuation of about $90 million to roughly $40 million within hours. BNC4 also dropped toward $10 after its move above $30, though that price remained well above BNC’s underlying shares.

Before the U.S. cash equity market opened, BNC was quoted at about $5.50 in premarket trading, up more than 50% from its prior level. The combination of a volatile premarket stock and a fast-moving on-chain token market created a fragmented price discovery process, with BNC4 trading continuously while purchases of the referenced U.S. shares depended on conventional market hours.

Manual minting limits immediate arbitrage

Four.meme’s stated minting process places a practical limit on traders seeking to close any gap between BNC4 and the underlying stock. Users must send USDC to a designated deposit wallet, submit a minting form, and wait for manual processing. Each request requires at least 10,000 USDC.

The issuer charges a 1% mint fee. A user sending the minimum 10,000 USDC would therefore pay 100 USDC in fees before receiving tokens based on the eventual stock purchase.

Four.meme said it would use the received USDC to buy the underlying shares within 24 hours, then issue BNC4 according to the share purchase price rather than the on-chain trading price. That detail became central to the launch dynamics: users able to mint near the stock’s market price could receive tokens that were subsequently valued far higher in decentralized trading.

One example described in the report involved the trader known as 0xShawn. The trader said about $30,000 resulted in 6,666 BNC4 tokens, implying an effective minting cost of approximately $4.50 per token. BNC4 later traded above $30 in the secondary market.

Such a structure can create a large premium when demand for immediately tradeable tokens exceeds the supply already minted. It also introduces execution risk. The final number of tokens received depends on the price at which the issuer purchases BNC shares, rather than the price users see when they submit USDC. A mint request therefore does not operate like an instant decentralized exchange swap.

Four.meme said it received more than $2 million in BNC4 mint requests after launch. With the U.S. equity market closed during part of that period, the issuer could not immediately complete all share purchases through regular market trading. The next U.S. session would provide the first fuller test of whether the underlying equity’s opening price narrows or widens the BNC4 premium.

Meme-token liquidity amplified the first hours

The first trading window was driven not only by BNC4 itself but also by a meme token built around a BNC4 liquidity pool. According to the on-chain monitoring posts cited in the report, that token reached a market value of $90 million in less than three hours before retreating.

Lookonchain identified one address, 0xbebb…7c3f44, that spent about $4,400 on the 4Stock-related meme position and was showing an unrealized gain of $1.08 million at the time of publication. The address had not sold, according to Lookonchain’s data.

0xShawn separately reported deploying about $30,000 and ending with roughly $230,000 over several hours, representing an approximate sevenfold increase. These returns reflected the early scarcity and volatility around the pool rather than a stable conversion rate between BNC4 and BNC shares.

The launch therefore connected two distinct forms of speculation: demand for tokenized exposure to a listed stock, and meme-token trading built around the liquidity supporting that exposure. The latter can move far faster than the equity it references, especially outside U.S. market hours.

Four.meme targets stocks absent from established token programs

Four.meme presented 4Stock as a way to bring stocks that are not covered by existing tokenized-stock programs onto BNB Chain. The project said that if a referenced stock later becomes available through an official token format, the corresponding 4Stock token would convert 1:1 into that official product.

CEA Industries has attracted attention after repositioning under Namdar as a corporate treasury focused on BNB, the native cryptocurrency of BNB Chain. The company has disclosed holdings of hundreds of thousands of BNB tokens, making it a natural target for a BNB Chain-native stock reference product.

The BNC4 launch offers a case study in the limits of calling a token “stock-paired.” The token’s issuance is linked to underlying share purchases, but its market price can detach sharply when supply is delayed, trading is continuous, and access to the underlying equity is constrained by brokerage and market-hour rules.

BNC’s opening price in the next U.S. trading session will determine the cost basis for pending mint requests and provide a clearer benchmark for BNC4’s secondary-market valuation. Until then, the premium reflects a mix of demand for around-the-clock access, limited immediately available supply, and speculation surrounding a new on-chain trading format.
