SmartK charts and indicators: Overview

2026-10-12 06:56

SmartK is a charting mode available on the Toobit Futures trading page. It builds on standard candlestick charts with Toobit-developed indicators, drawing tools, historical chart replay, and screenshot functionality.

Together, these tools can help you review market conditions through four key areas: direction, position, momentum, and risk.

SmartK and its indicators are intended for market analysis and trading-plan reference only. They do not place orders automatically or guarantee profits.

Futures trading involves risk. Always make your own trading decisions and manage your positions according to your risk tolerance.

What can I use SmartK for?

With SmartK, you can:

  • View Toobit-developed indicators directly on your futures chart.

  • Compare market behavior using last, mark, or index price data.

  • Draw your own trend lines, ranges, plans, and risk levels.

  • Replay historical candles one at a time to review which signals would have been available at that point in time.

How SmartK charts and panels work

SmartK is built around the main candlestick chart.

Main-chart indicators overlay information such as market structure, signals, and reference trading plans directly on the candlestick chart.

Lower-panel indicators appear beneath the main chart and focus on information such as price-volume relationships, momentum, and relative market strength.

Some main-chart indicators also include a floating information panel that summarizes the indicator's status at the current point on the chart.

How to open SmartK

On the futures trading page, select SmartK from the options at the top of the chart.

SmartK uses your currently selected futures trading pair, candlestick interval, and price source.

SmartK is not available in time mode.

Choosing a price source

Available price sources typically include:

  • Last price: Reflects actual traded prices.

  • Mark price: Provides a reference for monitoring futures position risk and liquidation-related prices.

  • Index price: Shows the composite external reference price.

When you change the trading pair, candlestick interval, or price source, SmartK reloads the chart and recalculates its indicators using the newly selected data.

Candlesticks can differ between last, mark, and index prices. As a result, the same indicator may produce different values or signals when you switch price sources.

Using drawing tools

SmartK includes drawing tools that let you manually mark trends, ranges, and important price levels.

Drawings are visual references only. They do not affect indicator calculations or trigger orders.

You can use them to document your own trading view. For example:

  • Mark a potential entry zone and the level at which your idea would be invalidated.

  • Mark support, resistance, or a range you are waiting to see break.

  • Record your expectations before starting a replay, then compare them with subsequent price action.

Indicators and the 1+1 limit

Select indicators to view the first five Toobit & AI indicators available in SmartK. You can favorite indicators you use frequently or activate and remove them directly from the indicator list.

SmartK currently uses a 1+1 indicator limit, which allows:

  • Up to one main-chart indicator

  • Up to one lower-panel indicator

The initial main-chart indicators are M-01, M-02, and M-03. Only one can be active at a time.

The initial lower-panel indicators are S-01 and S-02. Only one can be active at a time.

If an indicator of the same type is already active and you select another, SmartK replaces the indicator that was activated first.

Hiding an indicator does not free its slot. To use another indicator of the same type, either remove the existing indicator or select a new one to replace it.

For new users, M-01 is enabled by default. If you manually remove all indicators, SmartK will keep the chart without any indicators selected.

Indicator controls

Each active indicator includes the following controls:

  • Help: Opens the corresponding Support Center guide for the indicator.

  • Show or hide: Temporarily hides or restores the indicator. Hiding an indicator does not change its settings or free its indicator slot.

  • Settings: Adjusts the indicator's parameters, display options, or floating-panel position.

  • Remove: Removes the indicator from the chart and frees its main-chart or lower-panel slot.

Indicator settings

Available settings vary by indicator.

Changing parameters can affect factors such as indicator sensitivity, confirmation timing, the amount of information shown on the chart, and reference risk levels.

When testing different settings, consider changing only a small number of parameters at a time, then use chart replay to review the results.

Floating-panel positions

Indicators with floating information panels support nine positions:

  • Top left, top center, top right

  • Middle left, center, middle right

  • Bottom left, bottom center, bottom right

Each panel's position is saved independently.

If a panel covers an important part of the chart, you can move or collapse it. Collapsing a panel only hides the panel itself and does not stop the indicator from calculating.

Resetting SmartK

Using reset clears:

  • Currently selected indicators

  • Indicator visibility states

  • Collapsed or expanded panel states

SmartK then reloads the chart.

Saved indicator parameters are retained and are not deleted by a reset.

Why indicators may need time to warm up

Most technical indicators need a minimum amount of historical candlestick data before they can calculate values such as moving averages, market structure, or divergence.

If SmartK does not yet have enough data, an indicator may display warming or unavailable. No signal during warm-up does not mean that there is no trading opportunity. It simply means that the indicator does not yet have enough data to complete its calculation.

Multi-timeframe indicators also depend on closed candles from other timeframes.

If SmartK cannot load one of the required timeframes, the corresponding row may display: loading, warming, or unavailable. Do not interpret missing data as a neutral market signal.

Using chart replay

Chart replay lets you review indicators one candle at a time from a historical point on the chart.

It shows what information would have been available at that time, rather than displaying the entire historical move with the outcome already visible.

How to start a replay

1. When your chart is positioned at the latest candle, replay is unavailable.

2. Move the chart to the left until the right edge of the visible chart ends at a historical candle.

3. Select a playback speed of 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 2x, or 5x.

4. Start the replay.

5. SmartK freezes the closed main-timeframe candles and required multi-timeframe data available at the starting point, then reveals subsequent candles one at a time.

6. When the replay finishes, SmartK returns to the latest market data. To run another historical review, move the chart back to the point you want to test.

During replay, candlesticks, indicators, floating panels, legends, and screenshots are all based on the information available at the current historical point.

Some structures and signals require later closed candles for confirmation. For example, pivots, structural changes, and divergences appear only after sufficient confirming data would have been available at that point in history. This prevents future data from making a historical signal appear earlier than it could actually have been confirmed.

SmartK indicator guides

Main-chart indicators

  • M-01 Market signal and trading plan engine

  • M-02 Entry scoring and structure plan

  • M-03 Multi-timeframe positioning intelligence

Lower-panel indicators

  • S-01 Volume-price resonance distribution

  • S-02 Wavetrend momentum divergence

A suggested SmartK workflow

1. Start with direction and structure. Choose one main-chart indicator to assess market direction, structure, or a possible trading plan.

2. Check momentum and market strength. Add one lower-panel indicator to review price-volume behavior, momentum, or relative bullish and bearish strength.

3. Review the location. When price approaches an important area, assess the reference entry, SL, and TP levels.

4. Test the signal. Use chart replay to check whether the signal would actually have been confirmed at that historical point.

5. Assess your own risk. Consider your account risk, available liquidity, and major market events before making a trading decision.

SmartK limitations and risks

1. Data inputs are limited

The current indicators primarily use chart OHLCV data, meaning open, high, low, close, and volume, together with related multi-timeframe data.

They do not directly incorporate news, funding rates, open interest, on-chain activity, or the complete order book.

2. Some order-flow information is estimated

Order flow, delta (the estimated difference between buying and selling volume), and price-volume pressure displayed by M-01 and S-01 are proxy estimates derived from OHLCV data.

They are not calculated from actual tick-by-tick trade data or a true footprint chart. They should therefore not be interpreted as a complete representation of actual order flow.

3. AI-related limitations

The use of AI in SmartK does not mean that a remote large language model is predicting future prices. It also does not mean that SmartK provides personalized investment advice.

4. Signals can fail

Signals may fail under conditions such as low liquidity, major news or market events, sudden price spikes or long wicks, and prolonged sideways or choppy markets.

5. Live candles can change

An open candlestick continues to change until it closes.

Real-time indicator values based on an open candle may therefore also change. A continuously updating indicator value should not be interpreted in the same way as a signal that has already met its confirmation conditions.

FAQs

1. Why can't I add two main-chart indicators?

SmartK uses a 1+1 indicator limit to keep the chart readable. You can have up to one main-chart indicator and one lower-panel indicator active at a time.

Hiding an indicator does not free its slot. Remove it if you want to activate another indicator of the same type.

2. Why is nothing showing after I add an indicator?

The indicator may still be loading or warming up its historical data. A multi-timeframe indicator may also be waiting for data from another timeframe.

Check whether the indicator displays loading, warming, or unavailable.

3. Does a high score or green signal mean I will make a profit?

No. A high score or green signal only indicates that the current algorithmic conditions lean bullish or show a higher degree of alignment.

Your entry location, stop-loss distance, liquidity conditions, and unexpected events can still result in a losing trade.

4. Can SmartK indicators place trades automatically?

No. SmartK indicators provide chart information and reference trading plans only. They do not open positions, close positions, or manage positions on your behalf.

5. Why does a signal sometimes appear after the turning point in replay?

Some structures and signals require subsequent closed candles before they can be confirmed.

Pivots, structural changes, and divergences, for example, may only become identifiable after later candles provide sufficient confirmation.

SmartK therefore displays them during replay only once those confirmation conditions would have been satisfied at that historical point. This prevents future information from being used to make a historical signal appear earlier than it actually could have been identified.
