Trader turns $6 million PONS stake rich

2026-09-03 11:36

A wallet labeled “Bonk Guy Fomo” recorded roughly $5 million in unrealized gains over a week, driven largely by a position in the Robinhood Chain token PONS, according to an Aug. 31 screenshot published by blockchain analytics firm Arkham. The address, publicly linked by users in replies to trader theunipcs, held about $4.4 million in paper gains from PONS alone.

The trade has renewed attention around theunipcs, a high-risk memecoin trader whose previous positions in BONK, WIF and Fartcoin have generated multimillion-dollar unrealized gains — and whose portfolio was also wiped out in a major liquidation event last year.

Arkham’s screenshot indicated that the wallet accumulated about 1% of PONS supply when the token’s market capitalization was near $6 million, then made few changes to the position. Pons Labs later said on Sept. 3 that its platform had processed $400 million in trading volume during the previous 24 hours. Market data cited in the supplied material placed PONS’s market capitalization above $500 million at one point.

If the wallet still controlled around 1% of supply at that valuation, the position would be worth approximately $5 million. A move from a $6 million market capitalization to $500 million represents an increase of about 83 times, before accounting for liquidity, transaction costs or any sales.

Theunipcs replied publicly that the portfolio figure would soon reach $6.5 million, though the available material does not provide independently verified performance data for the account’s full trading history.

pons rally puts Robinhood Chain tokens in focus

PONS is the token of Pons Labs, which describes itself as a non-custodial launchpad operating on Robinhood Chain. The token is not an official Robinhood product. Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet in July, according to the supplied material, giving projects such as Pons Labs a new venue to issue and trade tokens.

Pons Labs says it routes about 80% of protocol fee revenue toward PONS buybacks and token burns. Buybacks involve the protocol purchasing tokens from the market, while burns permanently remove tokens from circulation. Both mechanisms can reduce tradable supply, although their market effect depends on actual fee generation, execution and trading demand.

The reported $400 million in 24-hour volume points to unusually intense activity for a recently launched token ecosystem. High volume can make it easier for holders to enter and exit positions, but it can also reflect rapid speculative turnover rather than sustained demand. For a holder controlling around 1% of supply, the ability to realize gains would depend heavily on available liquidity and the market’s capacity to absorb sales.

Theunipcs has also traded other tokens associated with Robinhood Chain, including MARSCOIN and USELESS. No independently verified figures for those positions were included in the disclosed material, leaving PONS as the clearest documented contributor to the wallet’s recent gains.

a trader known for concentrated memecoin bets

The PONS position resembles the approach that made theunipcs widely followed among on-chain memecoin traders: enter a small-cap token early, establish a concentrated position and hold through large price swings.

In October 2023, the trader opened a leveraged perpetual position in BONK using about $16,000 in capital at 6x leverage, according to figures the trader publicly shared. The trade began when BONK’s market capitalization was near $20 million. The position was held for about 13 months and later reached more than $20 million in peak unrealized profit, while funding payments totaled about $1.879 million.

Perpetual futures are derivatives without an expiry date. Traders using leverage borrow exposure to amplify price movements, which can multiply gains but also makes them vulnerable to liquidation if collateral falls below required levels. Funding fees, paid between long and short traders to keep perpetual prices close to the underlying market, can become costly during extended trades.

Theunipcs has also publicly discussed a WIF trade in which roughly $6,000 reached an unrealized profit near $1.4 million, as well as a Fartcoin position that at one point showed more than $8 million in unrealized profit. The trader has referenced gains in POPCAT, PNUT and FLOKI without providing precise figures for those trades.

Those gains were accompanied by a sharp illustration of the downside of highly leveraged exposure. During an October 2025 market event that produced about $20 billion in liquidations, theunipcs said all perpetual positions were liquidated, including positions in BONK, FARTCOIN, POPCAT, PNUT, CAT and APEX.

The trader said those positions had previously exceeded $30 million in unrealized profit and remained above $15 million shortly before the liquidation event. ASTER, used as DeFi collateral, fell about 80%, according to the trader’s account, helping trigger the forced closures.

recent FOMO activity adds to public profile

Theunipcs moved to the social trading platform FOMO in May 2026. In late August, the trader reported a portfolio all-time high near $6 million and said about $3 million had been earned over the preceding 30 days. The trader also said 14 of 17 trades were profitable at that point.

A Sept. 2 FOMO platform post said theunipcs ranked first across three leaderboards. Such rankings can draw attention to a trader’s positions and potentially intensify interest in smaller tokens, particularly when followers can see trades or attempt to replicate them.

The latest PONS gains place theunipcs back near the level reported in late August, but the history of the BONK liquidation shows the limits of treating unrealized profit as secured capital. Paper gains can disappear quickly in thin markets or during sharp price reversals, especially where positions are concentrated in newly issued tokens.

For PONS, the next test is whether the reported trading activity and fee-funded buyback program can support liquidity after the initial surge. The wallet’s estimated gain is tied to a valuation that moved from a micro-cap range to more than $500 million in a short period, leaving its ultimate outcome dependent on both token demand and the holder’s ability to exit without materially moving the market.
