SUN.io has completed its 52nd consecutive SUN buyback-and-burn round, permanently removing 7,232,977.17 SUN from circulation during the latest cycle and bringing cumulative burns to 685,780,165.49 SUN, the platform said on Oct. 27.
The latest destruction covered protocol revenue collected between July 25 and Oct. 25, 2026, using Singapore time. SUN.io said the total amount burned through the program now represents 3.44% of SUN’s total supply and was valued at more than $11 million at the time of its update.
The program gives SUN a recurring mechanism for directing revenue from several products into token removal. Unlike a one-off burn authorized from a treasury allocation, SUN.io said its burns are funded by revenue generated across its decentralized finance ecosystem.
SUN.io also reported that about 7.10 million SUN had already been accumulated for the next burn round as of the announcement, indicating the program continues to collect tokens between scheduled execution periods.
Revenue from three products funds the burns
SunSwap V2 has supplied the largest share of tokens used in the buyback-and-burn program, contributing 388,023,868.41 SUN since the mechanism began, according to SUN.io’s figures. That accounts for more than half of the 685.78 million SUN removed so far.
SunPump, the ecosystem’s token-launch platform, contributed 285,879,914.81 SUN. SunX, which SUN.io identifies as another business line within its product suite, accounted for 11,876,382.27 SUN.
Together, those contributions match the total amount reported as burned by the platform. The distribution also places most of the token-removal activity on revenues tied to decentralized exchange trading and token-launch services, rather than relying on token emissions or outside capital.
SUN.io said it has established a dedicated page for the program at sunwukong.sun.io/buyback. The page outlines the buyback mechanism, identifies its funding sources and provides transaction records for each completed round. The burn transactions are published with on-chain hashes, allowing users to trace the transfers to the relevant burn addresses.
Burns reduce the amount of tokens available in circulation by sending them to addresses from which they cannot be retrieved. Their market effect, though, depends on factors beyond the nominal quantity removed, including trading demand, token unlocks, liquidity conditions and whether the revenue that funds purchases expands over time. SUN.io did not make a price forecast alongside its latest burn announcement.
Trading activity supports the revenue model
The latest burn follows a period of increased activity across SUN.io’s products, according to data cited by the platform from DeFiLlama. Total transaction volume across the ecosystem reached nearly $15 billion in the third quarter of 2026, SUN.io said.
Spot decentralized exchange volume exceeded $5 billion during the quarter, while perpetual-contracts volume approached $9.7 billion, according to the DeFiLlama figures cited by SUN.io. The combined quarterly total was about 25% higher than the roughly $7.75 billion reported for the second quarter.
The figures provide context for a revenue-funded burn model: higher usage can increase fee generation, though it does not automatically determine the number of SUN tokens purchased or burned in each cycle. The size of future rounds will depend on protocol revenue and the allocation rules applied by SUN.io.
Separate on-chain data dated Oct. 26 placed total value locked on SunSwap near $645 million. The dataset cited by SUN.io also showed more than 26,800 active liquidity pools, over 14,000 daily on-chain interaction transactions and average daily trading volume above $50 million.
Total value locked measures crypto assets deposited in a DeFi protocol’s smart contracts. It offers a snapshot of available capital in pools and other applications, but does not represent trading volume or protocol revenue directly.
Integrations expand access to SunSwap liquidity
SUN.io also announced technical integrations involving SunSwap and three external products: on-chain trading aggregator Ave.ai, multi-chain wallet TokenPocket and cross-chain liquidity aggregation protocol Symbiosis.
According to the platform, the Ave.ai connection provides aggregator access to SunSwap markets, while the TokenPocket integration adds a wallet entry point for users accessing the exchange. The Symbiosis integration is designed to connect SunSwap liquidity with cross-chain routing.
For decentralized exchanges, aggregator and wallet integrations can affect how readily users discover and reach liquidity pools. Cross-chain routing can also give users on supported networks a route into TRON-based liquidity without manually arranging every bridging and swap step. Actual usage will depend on the supported assets, routing terms and available liquidity at the time of a trade.
The integrations arrive as SUN.io seeks to link its revenue-generating products more closely. SunSwap activity feeds a major portion of the burn program, while outside access points could direct additional trading flow toward its pools.
Incentives continue under Tron DeFi Summer
SUN.io’s product activity has also been supported by the Tron DeFi Summer incentive campaign, launched in July with a $4.5 million reward pool, according to the platform.
The campaign’s third season includes a pool dedicated to SUN, with an advertised maximum annual percentage yield of up to 25%. Such advertised yields typically vary with participation levels, reward distribution rules and the assets committed to a pool. Users also remain exposed to smart-contract risks, changes in token prices and, where applicable, impermanent loss from providing liquidity.
The 52nd burn leaves SUN.io with a visible record of recurring token removals funded by its stated protocol revenue sources. With 7.10 million SUN already designated as pending for the next cycle, the pace of the program will remain tied to whether trading, liquidity and other activity across SunSwap, SunPump and SunX sustain their reported revenue contribution.
