Five cryptocurrency projects are scheduled to release tokens worth an estimated $99.78 million this week, led by a $44.70 million LayerZero allocation. The releases will increase the tradable supply of LayerZero, Soon, SoSoValue, Humanity and Plasma tokens, placing attention on how quickly recipients move newly unlocked assets into the market.
LayerZero accounts for almost 45% of the value scheduled for release. The cross-chain messaging protocol is due to unlock 23.40 million tokens, according to the published token-unlock schedule. Plasma follows with 230 million tokens valued at approximately $18.34 million, while Humanity will release the largest amount by unit count: 270 million tokens worth roughly $15.56 million.
Token unlocks are prearranged releases of assets previously restricted under vesting agreements. They commonly go to early contributors, developers, foundations, strategic backers or ecosystem programs. Their effect on trading depends less on the headline token amount than on who receives the tokens, how much of the supply is already circulating, and whether recipients choose to sell, stake or retain their allocations.
LayerZero carries the largest dollar release
LayerZero’s scheduled release of 23.40 million tokens is valued at about $44.70 million, making it the week’s largest unlock by market value. The protocol provides infrastructure for applications to send messages and data across separate blockchains, using a model that allows developers to select their own trust and security configurations.
The scheduled release comes after the LayerZero Foundation said it repurchased 50 million tokens from strategic partners and returned them to lock-up. That move reduced the immediately available supply from those holdings, though the effect of this week’s separate vesting event will depend on the allocation category and the recipients’ trading behavior.
The supplied market data also showed open interest in LayerZero-linked derivatives rising 31% to $275 million. Open interest measures the value of active futures and perpetual-contract positions rather than direct token ownership. A higher figure can indicate greater trader participation, but it can also amplify price movements if leveraged positions are forced to close during a sharp move.
LayerZero’s unlock is large enough to draw attention from traders watching liquidity and order-book depth. A token can absorb a sizeable release without a major price move when demand is strong or recipients do not sell immediately. Thin liquidity, by contrast, can make relatively modest market orders more disruptive.
Plasma and Humanity add more than $33 million in supply
Plasma is scheduled to unlock 230 million tokens valued at around $18.34 million. The project is building a Layer 1 blockchain aimed at stablecoin payments, with Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility, support for customizable gas tokens, zero-fee USDT transfers and privacy-oriented payment features.
The release is substantial relative to the week’s total, although its market impact cannot be judged solely from the dollar estimate. Unlock values fluctuate with token prices, while the number of tokens that reaches exchanges or decentralized markets may be far lower than the scheduled amount.
Humanity’s release of 270 million tokens, worth an estimated $15.56 million, is the largest scheduled distribution by token quantity. Humanity is developing a human-identity network designed to limit Sybil activity, a term used for attempts by one participant to create or control numerous accounts in order to exploit rewards, voting systems or access rules.
The project recently said it integrated backend systems with Fireblocks, a digital-asset infrastructure provider used by financial institutions and custody businesses. Humanity said the connection would support more secure holding and management of its token through Fireblocks-connected institutions. The integration concerns custody infrastructure rather than a change to Humanity’s token supply, but it gives eligible institutional users an additional route to hold the asset.
Soon and SoSoValue complete the schedule
Soon is due to release 20.26 million tokens valued at approximately $6.20 million. It offers a rollup stack based on the Solana Virtual Machine, or SVM, the execution environment used by Solana. SVM-based projects seek to offer fast processing and lower transaction costs while deploying across different blockchain environments.
SoSoValue has scheduled an unlock of 23.50 million tokens worth around $6.91 million. The platform combines cryptocurrency research tools with portfolio and market-data functions, and describes its approach as using artificial intelligence alongside on-chain transparency.
Together, Soon and SoSoValue represent about $13.11 million of the five-project release schedule. Their smaller dollar values compared with LayerZero do not automatically make them less volatile. Tokens with lower liquidity can experience sharper moves when unlock recipients sell into limited buy-side demand.
Supply schedules require more than a headline number
The five unlocks form part of a busier October calendar, with the supplied schedule estimating that more than $845 million in digital assets is due to enter circulation during the third week of the month. That figure covers a wider group of projects than the five named releases and should be viewed as a schedule of potential supply, not a forecast of immediate selling.
Unlock events can affect market expectations before tokens are released. Traders often assess upcoming vesting dates alongside derivatives positioning, daily spot volumes, wallet activity and the share of tokens already in circulation. The result can be increased volatility even if the eventual distributions remain largely off-market.
For holders and active traders, the practical issue is whether token recipients transfer assets to trading venues or retain them under longer-term strategies. Large releases from team, treasury or strategic allocations may be treated differently from community rewards or broad airdrops. The $99.78 million calendar therefore sets a clear supply event for the week, while the market response will be determined by liquidity and recipient behavior rather than the unlock total alone.
