Devexperts holds trading leaders lunch in Jakarta

2026-11-05 01:35

Devexperts used its first trading industry leaders lunch in Jakarta to place trading infrastructure at the center of Indonesia's rapidly expanding retail market, following Bappebti approval for its DXtrade platform in August 2026. More than 30 capital-markets figures attended the Oct. 29 roundtable at The Langham Jakarta, where discussions focused on market integrity, system resilience, transparency and the operational pressures facing brokers.

The event arrived as Indonesian brokers and technology providers assess whether existing systems can handle a larger, increasingly mobile-first customer base without weakening execution quality or access during volatile periods. Devexperts said discussions covered practical uses for trading technology, market-data feeds, charting tools and AI-based analytics in addressing those challenges.

DXtrade is one of only two platforms in Indonesia approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, known locally as Bappebti, according to Devexperts. Bappebti regulates and supervises commodity futures trading in Indonesia, placing the platform within the country's formal supervisory framework for brokers operating in that segment.

DXtrade approval gives Devexperts a local foothold

The August approval gives Devexperts a route to offer its white-label technology to Indonesian firms seeking a configurable trading system rather than building a full platform from scratch. White-label software allows a broker to operate a platform under its own brand while relying on a third party for the core technology.

Devexperts said DXtrade can support multiple asset types, including stocks, options, futures, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, bonds, foreign exchange, contracts for difference, and margin and spot digital assets. Actual products available to customers would depend on a broker's licensing, business model and local regulatory permissions.

The platform is available through web and mobile browsers, as well as a white-label mobile application. Devexperts said it includes TradingView charting and open application programming interfaces, or APIs, that can connect the platform to third-party services. Those connections can matter for brokers that already use separate systems for market data, customer onboarding, risk controls or portfolio reporting.

Its modular structure is designed to let firms deploy DXtrade as a standalone system or integrate selected components into existing broker infrastructure, according to the company. That approach could appeal to established firms that want to modernize trading interfaces or mobile access without replacing every backend system at once.

Indonesian account growth raises capacity questions

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority, or OJK, recorded 23.21 million registered consumer accounts across the country in August 2026, according to figures cited by Devexperts. The authority also recorded transaction value of 23.16 trillion rupiah during the month.

The account total illustrates the scale of the market brokers are trying to serve, although registered accounts do not necessarily represent the same number of individual people. Customers may hold accounts with more than one financial firm, and market participation can vary significantly by product type and trading activity.

For technology providers, the commercial opportunity lies less in headline account numbers than in the operational demands they create. A growing customer base puts more pressure on order-routing systems, live price feeds, mobile applications, identity checks and customer-support processes. Traffic can rise sharply during sudden price movements, when users are most likely to open apps, check positions or place orders simultaneously.

A broker's trading interface is only one part of that chain. Delays can also stem from market-data capacity, connections to execution venues, risk-management controls or third-party identity and payment systems. As a result, firms upgrading their customer-facing applications may also need to examine the systems behind them.

The lunch focused on resilience and market integrity

Devexperts said participants discussed ways to strengthen market integrity alongside technology issues. In practice, that places attention on reliable data, transparent execution processes, system controls and the ability to keep services operating during periods of stress.

The company's Jakarta delegation included Charmaine Athaide, managing director for Asia Pacific; Jon Light, senior director of product management; Brett Hoffman, director of product management; Alexey Korotkevish, strategic accounts director; and Sylvie Qian, account manager.

The session was structured as a roundtable rather than a product launch, but the timing links Devexperts' recent regulatory approval to a direct engagement effort with Indonesian market participants. The company is positioning DXtrade as a technology option for brokers that need multi-asset capabilities, mobile delivery and connections to existing tools.

Devexperts said it has operated for more than 20 years in capital-markets software and employs about 800 engineers across its global locations. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Ireland, the company has offices in the United States, Germany, Portugal, Bulgaria, Singapore, Turkey and Georgia.

Regulation will shape the next infrastructure decisions

Indonesia's financial sector is also preparing for rules covering asset tokenization and the approval of digital stablecoins, according to the source material. Such measures would extend compliance and operational requirements into areas where brokers, technology firms and digital-asset providers may need clearer controls over custody, transaction records, customer access and risk monitoring.

That regulatory direction makes system design a commercial and compliance issue rather than a purely technical one. Brokers that expand into new asset classes or serve a larger base of app-based customers will need technology that can apply permissions, support reporting and maintain stable access under high demand.

The Jakarta meeting therefore reflected a competitive contest already underway: technology providers are seeking positions in a large domestic market, while brokers are weighing how quickly to modernize systems without disrupting their existing operations. Bappebti's approval of DXtrade gives Devexperts a formal entry point into that process as Indonesian firms confront rising expectations for reliability, transparency and mobile trading access.
