Bitcoin trades near short term bottom

2026-11-02 14:15

Bitcoin's slide to $76,265 on Oct. 30 brought the market within $135 of a closely watched Fibonacci support level before buyers drove a rapid rebound, leaving the $75,000-76,500 area as the immediate test for whether the short-term correction is nearing exhaustion.

The one-day decline of 4.12% followed a negative shock linked in the supplied analysis to Binance. Bitcoin briefly moved below a descending channel during the selloff, then recovered quickly from its intraday low. That response placed attention on a support cluster formed by the recent price structure, a 0.382 Fibonacci retracement at $76,130, and converging moving averages near $77,200.

The chart analysis measures Bitcoin's preceding advance from a July 1 low of $57,820 to a Sept. 21 high of $87,399. That $29,579 rally, equal to 51.2%, produces retracement markers at $76,130 for the 0.382 level, $72,610 for the 0.500 level, and $69,120 for the 0.618 level.

Bitcoin's rebound occurred before it reached the first of those markers, though the narrow margin means another test cannot be ruled out. A sustained move beneath the $75,000 area would weaken the case that the current leg down has found a floor and would turn attention toward the $69,100-70,500 range.

Support zone has several technical references

The supplied daily-chart model places the likely completion area for the current decline between $75,000 and $76,500. That range sits just below the moving-average convergence around $77,200 and overlaps with the Fibonacci level calculated from Bitcoin's July-to-September rally.

Technical support zones rarely operate as exact price points. Bitcoin may trade through an identified level briefly before recovering, particularly during a high-volume liquidation event. The Oct. 30 low illustrates that dynamic: price dropped beneath the descending channel before rebounding, rather than establishing a prolonged move under it.

On the four-hour chart, the same analysis describes the decline as an extended sequence of lower swings. A pattern initially counted as seven swings reportedly reached nine after the sharp selloff between the points labeled eight and nine. The larger decline from the $87,399 peak was mapped as a 10-leg structure.

That framework also identifies a downward consolidation band between roughly $82,556 and $84,361, based on overlapping price segments earlier in the decline. Bitcoin would need to reclaim that area to move back above a portion of the recent breakdown structure. Until then, rebounds into the low-$80,000 range may encounter sellers who were trapped during the initial decline or who view the range as a chance to reduce exposure.

The cited resistance levels begin near $79,200, followed by a broader $82,500-84,500 area. The September peak near $87,500 remains the higher reference point. These levels create a substantial recovery path even if Bitcoin holds its current support zone.

Volume rose while open interest stayed firm

The supplied market data showed Bitcoin futures volume rising 56% to $111.8 billion during the latest trading session, while open interest stood at $137.1 billion. High volume alongside relatively steady open interest can indicate that derivatives positions changed hands rapidly rather than being broadly closed.

The figures fit the price action seen during the selloff: a sudden drop, a test of technical support and a fast recovery. They do not establish whether the next major move will be upward or downward, but they suggest the decline drew significant participation rather than occurring in thin trading conditions.

The analysis also identified a volume-based divergence between two later legs of the four-hour decline, labeled segments six to seven and eight to nine. In technical analysis, a divergence occurs when price makes a lower low without equivalent confirmation from an indicator. The momentum measure used in the same model did not show that divergence, as it reached a new low with Bitcoin's price.

That mixed picture limits the strength of any bottom signal. Volume behaviour may point to fading selling pressure, while momentum has yet to provide the same confirmation.

HYPE tests resistance near record levels

HYPE moved against Bitcoin's direction during the period covered by the analysis, holding support near $75 and recording an intraday gain close to 20% on Oct. 29. The move brought the token back toward its prior high after a decline from $97.98 on Sept. 23.

The supplied four-hour chart counts that earlier retreat as a seven-leg downswing and marks a consolidation range between $84.54 and $88.07. HYPE subsequently moved above a chart point labeled 91, a development the analysis treated as evidence that the earlier corrective structure had weakened.

The next resistance area sits between $97 and $100, close to the prior peak, with $105 identified as a further upside reference. A failed attempt to clear the $97-100 zone would place attention back on the $84.50-88 support range. Below that, the chart identifies $75-77 and then $68-70 as deeper support areas.

The analysis also flagged a planned token-supply release on Nov. 6 as a potential source of short-term volatility for HYPE. New token issuance can alter available supply and affect trading conditions, especially when an asset is approaching a previous record level and traders are watching nearby technical resistance.

Bitcoin's recovery from $76,265 has so far preserved the support band that traders are likely to monitor most closely. A decisive hold above it would keep the focus on a rebound toward $79,200 and the low-$80,000s; a sustained loss of $75,000 would shift the chart's next major reference toward the $69,100 area.
