ViaBTC will give newly registered mining-pool users a 50% discount on pool fees for 30 days through a campaign running from Oct. 16 to Nov. 15, 2026, offering a temporary reduction in one of the operating costs miners face beyond hardware, electricity and hosting.
The promotion, called “A fresh start with ViaBTC,” applies to users who register between 08:00 HKT on Oct. 16 and 08:00 HKT on Nov. 15. ViaBTC said eligible accounts will receive a coupon automatically after registration, but users must activate it within 15 days of issuance.
Once activated, the coupon reduces the applicable mining pool fee by half for 30 consecutive days. The offer covers BTC, LTC, ZEC, BCH, KAS and DASH mining, according to ViaBTC. Rewards generated through merged mining are excluded from the discount.
Mining-pool fees are generally deducted from block rewards before miners receive their settlement. A 50% reduction does not change a miner’s electricity bill or machine performance, but it can improve the share of gross rewards retained during the promotional period. The effect will vary depending on each miner’s hashrate, the coin mined, the pool’s standard fee schedule and the network conditions during the month of use.
Coupon terms limit the discount window
The campaign is structured as a short-term acquisition offer rather than a permanent change to ViaBTC’s fee model. Registration alone does not activate the fee reduction, and an unused coupon expires 15 days after issuance.
That condition creates two distinct deadlines for participants. Users must first open an account during the month-long registration period, then choose when to begin the 30-day discounted-fee period within the coupon’s activation window. A miner registering near the end of the campaign could therefore begin the discount after registrations close, provided the coupon is activated before it expires.
ViaBTC did not state that the coupon applies retroactively to mining rewards earned before activation. Users considering the offer would need to activate the coupon before directing hashrate to the pool if they want the full 30-day period to cover their intended mining activity.
The merged-mining exclusion is particularly relevant for miners who receive rewards from more than one network through the same work. Litecoin mining, for example, can be paired with Dogecoin rewards through merged mining. ViaBTC’s stated terms mean the 50% reduction applies only to the eligible primary-coin pool fees, rather than every asset earned from a shared mining process.
Asset management tools accompany the pool offer
ViaBTC said new users can access earnings settlement and account-level asset management services alongside the pool discount. Once mining proceeds are credited, users can view and manage supported cryptocurrency balances through a single account, according to the company.
The company also said users may withdraw their assets or use its Auto Conversion function to exchange supported coin balances into BTC or USDT without first moving those funds to an external trading platform.
That option could appeal to miners operating several Proof-of-Work machines or receiving rewards in multiple assets. Consolidating balances inside the pool account may reduce the number of transfers needed before a miner converts or withdraws proceeds. It also means miners need to consider the conversion rate, available supported pairs and any service terms before using automated conversion instead of holding the mined asset or transferring it elsewhere.
ViaBTC’s campaign language focuses on new users, while its parallel VIP application process targets larger operators. The company said miners and institutional clients can submit the coins they mine, their hashrate and contact information through a VIP application page. ViaBTC’s business development team will then discuss mining support and fee arrangements with applicants.
The separate VIP channel suggests that the published coupon is aimed primarily at standard account registrations, while operators with substantial hashrate may seek individually negotiated commercial terms.
ViaBTC cites a decade of pool operations
ViaBTC said its mining-pool platform launched in 2016 and supports Proof-of-Work mining across assets including Bitcoin, Litecoin/Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Zcash and Kaspa. The company said it has served more than 2 million users in over 150 countries and regions.
The firm also said it completed SOC 2 Type I and Type II audits in 2025. SOC 2 is an assurance framework focused on controls related to areas such as security, availability and confidentiality. Type I examines whether relevant controls are suitably designed at a specified point in time, while Type II assesses how those controls operated over a period.
For miners choosing a pool, fee levels are only one part of the decision. Payment methods, payout thresholds, settlement timing, pool reliability, account security and the treatment of merged-mining rewards can all affect the final economics of directing hashrate to a particular operator.
ViaBTC’s promotion gives new accounts a defined 30-day period in which lower pool fees could offset part of their operating overhead. The value of that reduction will ultimately depend on the miner’s activity during the period, the coins selected, and whether the coupon is activated before its 15-day deadline.
