Unitree Technology shares have staged a sharp rebound from their October low, climbing as much as 65% over seven trading sessions and briefly moving above 700 yuan after falling to a record 404 yuan on Oct. 15. The stock was last quoted at 672 yuan, valuing the humanoid-robot maker at about 272 billion yuan.
The recovery has followed a run of product announcements and renewed enthusiasm for China’s humanoid-robot sector, though the share price remains well below its 1,100-yuan intraday peak on the first day of trading. Unitree’s market value reached 445 billion yuan on its listing day before dropping to roughly 200 billion yuan during the sell-off earlier this month.
The scale of the reversal has turned Unitree into one of the market’s most closely watched robotics names ahead of its scheduled third-quarter earnings release on Oct. 29. The company’s relatively limited free float, listed at 7.4%, may also amplify price moves when buying or selling pressure increases.
Product launches helped reverse the October decline
Unitree’s October announcements gave traders fresh reasons to reassess the company after the stock first fell below 500 yuan on Sept. 10. At that point, its market capitalization had slipped to 202.1 billion yuan.
On Oct. 16, Unitree introduced UniUni, an intelligent swarm-control system intended to coordinate groups of robots. The company said the software can rapidly arrange group movements and formations, monitor device status in real time, and trigger safety braking. Such systems could be commercially useful in settings where fleets of robots are deployed together, including demonstrations, logistics sites, industrial facilities, and security applications.
Five days later, Unitree unveiled the H2-X humanoid robot, marketed as the “Kung Fu Legend Guardian.” The company’s demonstrations showed the machine lifting a car by hand during a rescue scenario, kicking and deforming a car door, landing after a four-meter drop, and performing human-body defensive movements.
The demonstrations are promotional material rather than independently verified tests, but they reinforce the company’s focus on mobility, physical durability, and force control — areas that remain central challenges for humanoid-robot developers. Unitree also said the H2-X can operate for eight hours, roughly double the battery life of its H2 model.
Longer operating time would address one of the practical barriers facing humanoid robots in industrial deployment. A machine that requires frequent recharging can be difficult to integrate into factory workflows, particularly where operators expect continuous shifts and predictable task completion.
Sector momentum lifted related A-share names
The rebound in Unitree shares took place alongside a broader rally in Chinese robotics stocks. On Oct. 19, Unitree rose more than 14% as the humanoid-robot theme strengthened across the A-share market.
Other companies that advanced during the move included Sihui Fushi, Ningbo Dongli, Riying Electronics, Hengtong Optic-Electric, Zhaowei Motor, Suochen Technology, Orbbec, and Beite Technology. The gains suggest traders were treating the sector as a supply-chain opportunity as well as a bet on companies building complete humanoid systems.
China’s production scale has helped fuel that view. Industry figures cited during the period indicated that China produced more than 40,000 humanoid robots in the first half of the year, representing 97% of global output, with annual production projected to exceed 100,000 units. The figures point to a rapidly expanding manufacturing base, although high output does not by itself establish sustained commercial demand or profitability across the sector.
Unitree’s reported operating growth provides some support for the market’s focus on the company. Unitree said first-half revenue reached 1.152 billion yuan, a 48.54% increase from a year earlier. The company also reported that its bipedal-robot business generated 867.8 million yuan in 2025 and that it shipped 5,500 physical units to factory customers last year.
Those figures place more weight on the Oct. 29 results. Traders will be watching whether revenue growth has translated into improved margins and whether Unitree gives updated guidance on orders, production capacity, and customer adoption.
Wang sees a near-term breakthrough in physical AI
At the 2026 World Physical AI Conference in Hangzhou on Oct. 22, Unitree founder Wang said physical AI could achieve major breakthroughs within one to three years. He added that embodied intelligence — AI systems that can perceive and act in the physical world through machines — could reach a “ChatGPT moment” as soon as next year.
The comparison captures the market’s expectation that better AI models could make robots more useful outside tightly controlled environments. Humanoid machines need to combine vision, balance, navigation, object handling, and decision-making, making progress dependent on both hardware reliability and software capability.
JPMorgan responded after the conference by upgrading Unitree to “overweight” from “underweight” and raising its target price to 995 yuan from 300 yuan. The new target sits well above the latest share price, but it also follows an unusually volatile month in which the stock lost more than half its value from its intraday peak before rebounding sharply.
Institutional purchases supported the latest advance
Exchange disclosure for the latest session showed institutional net buying of 249 million yuan in Unitree shares. Flow data from the session also showed more than 82.77 million yuan of main-force net inflows, equivalent to 0.41% of the company’s free-float market value.
The rally pushed Unitree past Pinzhun Laser to become the fifth-highest-priced A-share. Its move back above 700 yuan briefly restored a substantial portion of the market value lost during the early-October decline, though the stock remains exposed to rapid swings given its limited free float and the concentration of attention around a single earnings event.
Unitree’s coming report will provide the next concrete test of whether product launches and sector optimism are being matched by expanding commercial sales. With the stock now far above its Oct. 15 low, the market’s focus is likely to shift from demonstrations and long-term AI projections toward production costs, order visibility, and the economics of deploying humanoid robots at scale.
