Ondo Finance has launched its Ondo Intelligent Portfolios on Solana, extending seven tokenized multi-asset products to eligible users outside the United States through Solana-compatible wallets and applications. The rollout follows the portfolios first four weeks on Ethereum and BNB Chain, during which they accumulated more than $40 million in total value locked, according to Ondo.
The Solana deployment places the products on a network where Ondo says it already has more than $500 million in total value locked across its tokenized-asset offerings. The company said the seven portfolios now available are BLKHIon, BLKGRWon, BLKDIGon, MAG7Xon, BRAINon, YLD5on and YLD8on.
Each portfolio is represented by a single onchain token that packages exposure to multiple underlying assets. Ondo said the holdings are visible onchain and are rebalanced programmatically, allowing users to hold or transfer a portfolio token through a wallet much as they would another tokenized asset.
Seven portfolios target income, growth and thematic exposure
Ondo divided the new lineup between portfolios based on strategies developed by BlackRock and products designed internally. Three portfolios use nondiscretionary model portfolio strategies provided by BlackRock for Ondos use, while Ondo developed the other four.
The company describes the range as offering income, growth and thematic strategies, though the release did not give individual asset allocations or performance figures for each portfolio. Further portfolios are planned, Ondo said.
The structure is designed to make a basket of tokenized exposures transferable as one token rather than requiring users to acquire and manage each component individually. That arrangement could appeal to users seeking diversified exposure through self-custodied wallets, but it also leaves them reliant on the issuers portfolio construction, token mechanics and rebalancing process.
Ondos disclosures emphasize that BlackRock Fund Advisors does not manage, sponsor, promote, distribute or exercise discretion over the onchain portfolios or their tokens. BlackRocks role is limited to supplying model strategies based on specifications from Ondo, with no general obligation to update those strategies after their initial delivery.
The disclosures also identify a potential conflict: the model strategies may include funds sponsored or managed by BlackRock or its affiliates. Those funds pay fees to BlackRock-related entities, meaning allocations by the Ondo portfolios could increase compensation to those firms.
Solana adds a large base for tokenized equities
The launch connects Ondos portfolio tokens with Solanas expanding tokenized-equity market. Ondo cited data showing that more than 1.6 million Solana addresses hold tokenized stocks, although wallet-address counts do not necessarily correspond to individual users.
Ondo already offers Ondo Stocks on the network, which it says provides access to hundreds of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs. The company says it is among Solanas largest issuers of tokenized real-world assets, with more than $500 million in total value locked.
The addition of portfolio tokens gives Ondo a way to package those individual tokenized instruments into defined strategies. Rather than selecting a series of separate equity, fund or yield-linked tokens, an eligible user can acquire one portfolio token whose composition is managed according to the stated strategy.
That convenience does not give holders direct ownership of the referenced securities. Ondos legal disclosures state that Ondo Stocks tokens provide economic exposure to underlying assets, including dividends after applicable tax withholding, but are not themselves stocks, exchange-traded funds or American depositary receipts. Holders do not have rights to receive or hold the underlying assets.
The same distinction applies to Ondos USDY token. Ondo states that USDY provides economic exposure to short-term U.S. Treasuries, while USDY token holders have no right to receive or hold Treasury securities themselves.
Access remains restricted by jurisdiction
The portfolio tokens are unavailable to U.S. persons and cannot be offered or sold in the United States unless they are registered under the Securities Act of 1933 or qualify for an exemption, according to Ondos disclosures.
Other restrictions apply across several markets. Ondo said that in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Singapore, the assets are offered only to qualified traders or professional clients, subject to local requirements. Eligibility depends on the users jurisdiction and status, limiting the products immediate reach despite its availability through Solana wallets and apps.
Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited, a British Virgin Islands company, is identified as the issuer of the tokens. Ondo Finance Inc., a Delaware corporation, provides tokenization services to and holds an equity interest in Ondo Global Markets, while OUSG tokens are issued by Ondo I LP, a Delaware limited partnership.
For European Economic Area users, Ondo said a base prospectus concerning the tokens has been approved by Liechtensteins Financial Market Authority and notified to certain EEA member states. Ondo says the approval does not amount to regulatory endorsement, and directs users to the applicable token pages on its platform for the prospectus.
Certain Ondo Stocks tokens have also been admitted to trading on Nest Exchange Limited, a digital-asset multilateral trading facility in Abu Dhabi Global Market operated by Binance and authorized by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, according to Ondo. The company said this does not constitute an offer of securities in ADGM.
The Solana launch gives Ondos tokenized-asset business a new distribution channel for packaged strategies after its initial $40 million uptake on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Its success will depend less on the convenience of a single transferable token than on whether eligible users accept the underlying issuer, jurisdictional restrictions and distinction between tokenized economic exposure and direct ownership of traditional securities.
