Meme tokens swing across Robinhood Chain BNB Chain Solana

2026-09-08 01:22

MemeSOLBNB

Meme tokens across Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain and Solana recorded rapid swings in market value over the past week, with several tokens rising by tens or hundreds of millions of dollars before surrendering a substantial share of those gains. Data from on-chain tracking platform GMGN showed the strongest moves clustered around social-media narratives, tokenized-stock themes and recent trading venue listings rather than disclosed product or revenue developments.

On Robinhood Chain, PONS rose 125% from roughly $440 million to a peak near $990 million before settling around $700 million, according to GMGN. AI climbed from $250 million to $430 million, a 72% increase, then retreated to about $230 million. BONER advanced 67%, from $53 million to $89 million, before falling back to roughly $63 million.

The speed of those reversals places a premium on actual liquidity rather than headline market capitalization. A token’s market value is generally calculated from its latest traded price multiplied by its token supply; it does not show how much capital could be withdrawn without pushing the price sharply lower. In thin or concentrated pools, a relatively small wave of buying can produce a large market-cap figure, while selling can reverse the move quickly.

Robinhood Chain narratives draw stock-token attention

CASHCAT exceeded $320 million in market value before declining to about $190 million, GMGN data showed. The token’s branding refers to the “Cash Cat” label associated with Robinhood’s earlier history. Social-media engagement by Robinhood Markets Chief Executive Vlad Tenev with related posts helped draw attention to the theme, though the supplied data does not identify an official connection between the company and the token.

MEME, an AMC-themed token on Robinhood Chain, moved from below $30 million last week to $170 million before easing to around $125 million. Its rally followed a public disagreement involving AMC Entertainment Chief Executive Adam Aron, who questioned Robinhood’s issuance of an AMC stock token without the company’s authorization and called for trading to stop.

The episode put the tokenized-equity branding used by some meme-token projects under closer scrutiny. Tokens that reference listed companies can generate rapid visibility by borrowing familiar ticker symbols and corporate names, but branding alone does not establish an ownership claim on the underlying shares or a relationship with the named company.

SHROOM reached nearly $60 million over the weekend and later fell to $28 million, according to GMGN. Issued through Pons, the token is connected to liquidity pools pairing SHROOM with stock tokens linked to NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, SPY, AMD and TSLA. The project says trading fees are returned to liquidity, while further revenue is earmarked for buybacks and burns. It also describes periodic distributions of MU stock tokens to qualifying holders.

Those mechanisms give SHROOM a more elaborate structure than a straightforward meme launch, yet its market-cap decline after the weekend peak shows that fee-routing and reward designs do not remove speculative risk. The value of rewards can depend on pool conditions, token demand and the market behavior of the assets used in the pairs.

Listings fuel BNB Chain surges

BNB Chain also saw sharp moves connected to recent listings. MarsCoin rose from about $100 million to $265 million after a Sept. 4 spot listing, then declined to approximately $150 million, GMGN reported. Its name draws on a 2021 Elon Musk remark, and the token initially circulated without a publicly published team or roadmap.

Hakimi increased from $16 million to $90 million after a Sept. 6 derivatives listing before sliding to $50 million, according to GMGN. Niu Lai climbed above $140 million and subsequently pulled back to around $81 million.

These moves illustrate how a listing can change a token’s short-term trading profile by giving it access to more participants and, in the case of derivatives, leveraged positions. That access can increase trading volume and visibility, but it also gives traders more ways to express a bearish view or unwind exposure when momentum stalls.

Stonks, another BNB Chain token, surpassed $19 million before falling to $6 million, GMGN data showed. The token was issued through Four.meme with tokenized U.S. equity QQQB used as its base pool. Its name draws on the internet’s deliberately misspelled “stonks” meme, connecting it to the same stock-market culture that has driven activity around several Robinhood Chain launches.

Solana tokens show the same rapid reversals

On Solana, USELESS rose above $320 million over the weekend and later fell to roughly $230 million, according to GMGN. Launched through LetsBONK, the token is marketed around “zero utility,” a framing that openly treats the asset as a meme rather than tying it to a product-development plan.

STONK climbed beyond $180 million and subsequently eased to about $130 million. The token launched in August through StonkFun and briefly crossed $100 million in market value on Sept. 6, described by the project as the first Solana coin-stock-pair meme token to reach that threshold.

ZCAT, also launched through StonkFun, peaked above $180 million before retreating to around $130 million, GMGN showed. The token applies a 3% transfer tax. According to its stated design, most of the proceeds are used to buy ZEC, with the acquired tokens distributed automatically to eligible ZCAT holders based on their balances.

Transfer taxes and automated reward systems can encourage holders to keep tokens rather than trade them frequently, but they also add complexity to a trade. Participants need to account for the tax when entering or exiting a position and should understand the conditions governing any distribution before treating it as a yield-like return.

Across the three networks, the week’s trading produced a familiar pattern: sudden attention drove market values sharply higher, then profit-taking and fading momentum pulled them down. The repeated reversals—from PONS and MEME on Robinhood Chain to MarsCoin on BNB Chain and USELESS on Solana—show how quickly a viral narrative can be converted into a highly liquid-looking market-cap number and then unwound.
