Wemade has launched a first-anniversary update for its Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG Legend of YMIR, adding a new Assassin class and opening an accelerated Boot Camp Season 2 server designed to move new and returning players through early progression more quickly.
The update, announced by Wemade on Oct. 20, sets out the game’s content plans through December as Legend of YMIR completes its first year of global live service. Its most immediate gameplay change is the Boot Camp Season 2 server, where characters can receive a 600% experience-point boost through Level 65, alongside specialized hunting buffs and leveling-support items.
By compressing the early leveling process, Wemade is seeking to reduce the time required for players to reach content built around the game’s higher-level progression and competitive modes. The approach also gives returning players a route back into the game without having to repeat a slower launch-era leveling experience.
Assassin arrives with class-change option
The Assassin joins Legend of YMIR as a new playable class, expanding the game’s roster without requiring existing players to start from scratch. Wemade said the update includes class-change support, allowing users to move to the Assassin while retaining their character’s accumulated progression.
That feature places the new class within the existing player economy rather than limiting it to newly created characters. Players who have already developed equipment, companions, or other progression assets can test the new combat style while remaining connected to their established account progress.
Legend of YMIR uses a dark Norse-mythology setting and emphasizes large-scale server battles, with its visual presentation built in Unreal Engine 5. The game’s server-based competition gives character progression a practical role beyond the campaign experience, particularly for players seeking to participate in PvP activities and seasonal events.
Wemade has not detailed all of the Assassin’s abilities in its anniversary announcement, but the addition gives the game a fresh class-based objective alongside its accelerated leveling program. New class launches often encourage players to revisit builds, equipment choices, and group composition, especially where a class-change system allows established characters to participate immediately.
Pre-registration unlocks anniversary companion
Wemade said its anniversary pre-registration campaign exceeded 100,000 participants, unlocking a 1st anniversary legendary companion for all active players. Players who pre-registered will receive additional bonuses, according to the company.
The anniversary package also includes in-game missions that offer a legendary-grade Disir and a Valkyrie. In Legend of YMIR, companions such as Disirs and Valkyries form part of the game’s character-enhancement structure, making the rewards relevant to players preparing for faster progression on the Boot Camp server.
The combination of guaranteed anniversary rewards and a high-experience progression server creates a concentrated onboarding period. Players entering during the campaign can receive character-supporting items while advancing more quickly than under the standard leveling pace.
Wemade also announced events across the game’s official social media channels. Players can enter campaigns tied to anniversary messages and in-game screenshots, with prizes offered for participation through the official community channels.
Referral program targets returning players
A separate Einherjar Fellowship event is structured around referrals, inviting current players to bring in new or returning users and complete designated missions together. Inviters receive rewards based on the number of completed fellowships, while invited players can earn items after accepting an invitation and completing their own mission requirements.
The reward pool includes epic- and legendary-grade items. Wemade said the highest-ranking inviters can earn mythical-grade rewards, placing a competitive layer on top of the referral campaign.
The program is designed to make player recruitment part of in-game progression rather than a standalone promotional exercise. Referral systems can be particularly effective in multiplayer games with server-based competition, where established players benefit from bringing friends or former guild members into the same ecosystem.
Boot Camp Season 2 participants will also have access to a 14-day check-in event. Wemade said players can obtain a legendary-grade Valkyrie on the seventh day and a legendary-grade Disir on the 14th day, rewarding continued participation rather than only a single login.
December update will introduce mythical companions
Wemade plans to release mythical-grade Disirs and Valkyries in December, extending the anniversary roadmap into the year-end period. The company also referenced YMIR Cup Season 3 as part of its December schedule.
The planned arrival of mythical-grade companions gives players who enter through Boot Camp Season 2 a longer-term progression target after the accelerated leveling period. It also sets up December as the next competitive content window following the anniversary campaign and initial Assassin rollout.
Wemade’s head of business division referenced the upcoming YMIR Cup Season 3 in the company’s announcement, though the developer did not provide a full tournament format or schedule in the material released with the anniversary update.
The October-to-December roadmap places player reacquisition at the center of Legend of YMIR’s second year of live service. Accelerated leveling, class flexibility, referral rewards, and scheduled higher-tier companion releases all concentrate on bringing more characters into competitive-ready progression while providing established players with new goals.
Wemade directed players to the official Legend of YMIR website and its Discord, YouTube, and Facebook channels for further information on the anniversary events, Boot Camp Season 2, and the upcoming December content.
