JustMarkets has launched an installation-free WebTerminal for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, giving its CFD clients browser access to their trading accounts without downloading desktop software. The platform is designed for traders who need to check markets, manage positions, or place orders from devices where installing a dedicated program is inconvenient or unavailable.
According to JustMarkets, the WebTerminal supports core MetaTrader functions including live charts, technical indicators, order placement, and monitoring of open positions. Clients can log in through an internet browser and move between compatible devices without reinstalling the platform or rebuilding a local setup.
The launch expands access to the two MetaTrader platforms, which remain widely used among retail forex and CFD traders. It also reflects the growing role of browser-based terminals for users who work across several devices, including personal computers, office machines, and tablets.
MetaTrader access moves into the browser
JustMarkets said the WebTerminal is intended to provide direct online access to MT4 and MT5 accounts while preserving the basic trading tools clients would expect from a platform interface. Users can open and close positions, review charts, apply available indicators, and manage orders from a web session.
The practical appeal is speed of access rather than a replacement for every desktop feature. A trader who is away from a primary workstation could sign in, assess an existing position, adjust a stop-loss order, or close a trade without first installing software on a second machine.
That can be particularly useful for short-term CFD strategies, where positions may require attention during market hours. CFDs are leveraged products that allow clients to speculate on price movements without owning the underlying asset, but leverage can amplify losses as well as gains. A browser terminal may reduce the friction of accessing an account; it does not reduce the risks attached to rapid market moves or leveraged exposure.
JustMarkets’ announcement said its web platform includes real-time charts, multiple indicators, different order types, and tools to control active positions. The company did not present the terminal as a full substitute for every MetaTrader desktop workflow.
Expert Advisors remain tied to desktop MetaTrader
One major limitation concerns Expert Advisors, the automated trading programs used within MetaTrader. JustMarkets said traders using Expert Advisors will still need desktop MetaTrader.
That distinction matters for users who rely on automated strategies, custom scripts, or systems that run continuously based on market conditions. Browser sessions are generally better suited to manual account access and trade management than to hosting automated programs that need to remain active for extended periods.
MT4 and MT5 are often grouped together, though they serve somewhat different platform ecosystems. MT4 remains closely associated with forex and CFD trading, while MT5 offers a broader framework that can support additional asset classes depending on a broker’s product offering. JustMarkets’ WebTerminal covers both, allowing eligible clients to access the platform linked to their account through a browser.
The service could also appeal to traders who use more than one device during the day. Instead of transferring files, synchronizing a custom desktop installation, or waiting for software to download, they can access account information through a login. The experience and available functions can vary by browser, account type, and the instruments enabled by the broker.
Convenience does not change trading risks
JustMarkets included a warning that forex and CFD trading carry substantial risk and may result in the loss of invested capital. The company also said its materials were provided for informational purposes rather than as investment advice.
That warning is especially relevant for browser-based access, which makes trading more immediately available in more locations. Faster access can help a client respond to a market move or manage an existing order, but it can also encourage decisions made without the preparation available at a main workstation.
Traders using a web terminal should review whether their connection and device are appropriate for managing live positions. A stable network, a current browser, and secure account authentication are practical considerations when account access shifts from a controlled desktop environment to multiple devices.
Public or shared computers pose additional concerns. A browser session can leave saved credentials, cached data, or an active login if the user does not sign out properly. Using private devices where possible, enabling any available account security features, and confirming that a session is closed after use can reduce avoidable exposure.
Corporate networks can also impose their own restrictions on websites, browser extensions, or financial services. A browser-based terminal eliminates the need to install a trading application, but it does not guarantee that a workplace network will permit access to a broker’s website or that using such access complies with an employer’s technology policies.
A tool for account access, not a trading shortcut
The WebTerminal gives JustMarkets clients another route into MT4 and MT5 accounts, with manual trading and position-management tools available from a browser. Its most immediate use case is straightforward: maintaining access to an account when the usual desktop terminal is unavailable.
For traders who depend on Expert Advisors or a heavily customized MetaTrader environment, the desktop application remains necessary. For those primarily looking to monitor markets, view charts, and manage trades while away from a main computer, JustMarkets’ browser option places those functions behind a standard web login without a software installation step.
