EDGE Markets expects to process more than $2 billion in transactions during the 2026 NFL season after expanding real-time funding connections to prediction-market platforms, the company said. The projection follows the launch of EDGE Connect, which allows users to move money from an EDGE Boost debit account to Kalshi, Polymarket, ProphetX and Splash Sports at any hour, including weekends and bank holidays.
The company said it had already processed more than $800 million during the first 44 days of the season, nearly four times the volume it recorded during the equivalent period a year earlier. EDGE Markets processed $1.2 billion during the prior NFL season, according to the company.
The figures point to the growing importance of payments infrastructure for event-contract and sports-prediction trading. Fast funding can determine whether a trader can act when new information changes a market’s implied odds, particularly during evenings and weekends, when traditional bank transfers may be delayed.
Edge connect targets the funding gap
EDGE Connect links EDGE Boost balances directly to partner platforms, enabling what the company describes as transfers available “24/7/365.” EDGE Boost is a special-purpose debit account, paired with a Visa debit card, intended to keep money designated for trading separate from a customer’s ordinary spending account.
Customers can use EDGE Boost funds to transfer money to Kalshi, Polymarket and ProphetX with listed limits of up to $5 million per transaction and $50 million per day, EDGE Markets said. The company said it does not charge a fee for transfers onto those partner markets.
These limits place the service beyond the typical consumer debit-card use case. They also suggest EDGE Markets is seeking to support active participants and firms that need to move larger balances without relying on a standard ACH transfer window.
Prediction markets have increasingly competed on speed as well as contract selection. A trade tied to an election, sports result, economic release or breaking news may lose relevance quickly if funds are unavailable when a position needs to be opened, adjusted or closed. Real-time account-to-platform transfers could reduce the operational friction that has historically pushed users to pre-fund multiple accounts or leave idle balances sitting on trading venues.
The system does not remove the financial risk of taking a position. It changes the mechanics of access to funds, allowing users to respond more quickly when a market moves.
Separate account structure and funding routes
EDGE Boost can be funded through ACH transfers from a linked checking or savings account, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency converted to U.S. dollars through Zero Hash LLC, according to EDGE Markets. The company said credit cards cannot be used to fund the account.
The restriction on credit-card funding matters in a sector where card issuers, banks and payment processors frequently apply tighter rules to gambling-adjacent or high-risk transaction categories. By using bank transfers, wires and crypto-to-dollar conversion, EDGE Markets has built a funding model around payment rails that can accommodate larger deposits and a defined trading balance.
Crypto deposits are converted into dollars rather than transferred as digital assets to prediction markets, based on the company’s description. Virtual currency services are provided by Zero Hash LLC, which EDGE Markets said is licensed by the New York State Department of Financial Services to conduct virtual currency business activity.
Availability remains subject to regulatory requirements, geographic limits and other approvals, the company said. Access to prediction markets and payment products can vary by jurisdiction, while individual platforms also apply their own eligibility rules.
Banking partners provide deposit coverage framework
Deposit accounts are held at Cross River Bank, a member FDIC, according to EDGE Markets. Standard FDIC insurance covers deposits up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, subject to the applicable ownership categories and requirements.
EDGE Markets also said eligible consumer accounts enrolled through its relationship with IntraFi Network Deposits may qualify for aggregate FDIC coverage of up to $10 million. IntraFi’s deposit-placement structure can spread deposits across a network of banks, allowing customers to access coverage above the standard single-bank threshold when program conditions are met.
The Visa debit card connected to EDGE Boost is issued by Cross River Bank under a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc., EDGE Markets said. The company added that the card is unavailable to some residents of U.S. territories and that usage limits are governed by its customer agreements.
EDGE Markets’ $2 billion seasonal target will depend on whether its early-season transaction pace continues through the NFL calendar. The company’s first 44-day total of more than $800 million indicates that funding activity is running well ahead of last season, though transaction volume measures money moving through the system rather than traders’ profits, losses or outstanding positions.
By connecting a bank-linked balance, crypto conversion and immediate transfers to several prediction-market partners, EDGE Markets is positioning payment speed as a central feature of event-contract trading rather than a back-office function.
