Three blockchain projects with a combined $36.5 million in reported funding—GTE, BitRobot and Melee—have begun rolling out early-access programs designed to build user communities before broader product releases. The programs take different forms: GTE has opened a task-based waitlist, BitRobot has launched a points system tied to network participation, and Melee has released a closed beta requiring invite codes.
The launches show how early-stage crypto applications are using gated access and social onboarding to identify active users before opening their products more widely. None of the projects’ published instructions guarantee token distributions or financial rewards, but each program creates a record of user activity through registrations, linked accounts, badges or participation points.
GTE’s waitlist, which opened on Aug. 19, offers users up to 125 points for completing a set of introductory tasks. According to the project’s instructions, registering an email address is required, while setting a username awards 25 points. Following GTE on X and Instagram awards a combined 50 points, and downloading a project card adds another 50 points.
The platform is developing a decentralized trading venue on MegaETH using a central limit order book, or CLOB. That model matches buy and sell orders at specified prices, a structure familiar from conventional exchanges and increasingly used by onchain trading platforms seeking more precise execution than automated market makers can offer.
GTE said it raised a $15 million Series A round in June 2025 led by Paradigm. The company said the financing lifted its total funding to $25 million, following $10 million raised through pre-seed, seed and community rounds. The waitlist provides GTE with an early channel for attracting potential users before its trading product becomes broadly available.
GTE links onboarding to its MegaETH trading platform
GTE’s points are tied to simple account and social-media actions rather than trading volume or deposits. That lowers the barrier for users who want to monitor the platform’s development without moving assets onchain, while also giving GTE a way to build an identifiable audience around its planned market infrastructure.
The approach is particularly suited to a project building a trading venue. A CLOB can offer traders visible bids and offers at different prices, but it also depends on deep liquidity and consistent market-making activity to function effectively. Building a user base before launch does not solve the liquidity problem on its own, though it can give a new venue a larger pool of accounts to engage when trading features arrive.
MegaETH, the network on which GTE is being built, is designed around high transaction throughput. GTE’s choice of an order-book model places its product in the part of decentralized finance where performance, execution quality and liquidity concentration are likely to matter more than social onboarding points alone.
BitRobot opens participation across robotics subnets
BitRobot has taken a more operational approach with its newly launched points system. The project describes itself as a decentralized, crypto-incentivized network for embodied artificial intelligence research and distributed robotics development. Users access the program through Google sign-in and can review available opportunities through a section labeled “CONTRIBUTE.”
The contribution page lists five subnet projects. BitRobot’s materials say SN/02 is offline, while SN/03 and SN/04 can be joined at near-zero cost. Point allocations vary between subnets, according to the project, which means users are not receiving a uniform score merely for registering.
A subnet generally refers to a specialized network or subdivision focused on a particular task. In BitRobot’s case, the structure appears intended to divide work or participation among robotics- and AI-related initiatives rather than concentrating activity in a single application.
BitRobot announced on Feb. 13, 2025 that it had secured $8 million in total funding. Protocol VC led the funding, with Big Brain Holdings and Fabric Ventures participating, according to the project.
The program’s design places more weight on contribution choices than the basic social tasks used by many waitlists. Users considering the system would need to assess the status, cost and point structure of each available subnet, especially because one listed option is offline and the project says rewards differ across the network.
Melee limits beta access through invite codes
Melee, a Solana-based prediction-market platform, began its closed beta on Aug. 27, according to the project. Access is being distributed through invite codes released periodically on its X and Discord channels, creating a narrower entry process than the open registration systems used by GTE and BitRobot.
The platform says users can begin by visiting its website and selecting “Claim your first badge.” They must then create an account, link an X profile and complete social tasks. Melee’s published instructions say successful completion is connected to receiving an OG badge.
Melee uses a PMM pricing mechanism, described by the project as bonding-curve-like. Bonding curves adjust prices according to buying and selling activity, rather than relying solely on a traditional order book. The platform says it will allow users to create markets quickly across subjects including sports, cryptocurrency, politics and pop culture.
Prediction markets require enough participation on both sides of an outcome to produce useful pricing. Melee’s invite-code beta can help it test account creation, market setup and user activity in a controlled environment before allowing a larger public audience onto the platform.
The project said it has raised $3.5 million to date. Its onboarding flow also makes social-account linking central to early participation, allowing the platform to distribute access through channels where it can communicate beta updates and invite-code releases.
Early access is becoming part of product testing
The three programs illustrate different ways funded projects are turning early community activity into a structured part of launch preparation. GTE is collecting interest around a planned decentralized trading platform; BitRobot is directing users toward distinct participation networks; and Melee is controlling access while testing a prediction-market product.
For users, the practical distinction is that the programs measure different behavior. GTE’s current system centers on registration and social engagement. BitRobot’s points framework directs users to specific subnets with different conditions. Melee’s process depends on obtaining an invite code and completing badge-related onboarding steps.
Those differences matter more than headline funding totals when assessing what each access program currently offers. A waitlist, contribution score or OG badge can establish a user’s place in an early community, but the projects’ posted materials do not equate those records with a guaranteed allocation, payout or trading advantage.
