We know that the crypto market is in a constant state of change, and so are the needs of sophisticated traders. As cryptoasset trading matures, we've seen a growing demand for tools that offer greater predictability and control.
Today, we're responding to that need by introducing our new USDC-M Perpetual Contracts, starting with the flagship pairs: BTC/USDC and ETH/USDC.
Our goal is simple, to provide a more stable foundation for your trading strategies.
Taming volatility
For any derivatives trader, managing risk is paramount. When your collateral is a volatile asset, you're exposed to market swings on two fronts: your position and your margin itself. This can complicate risk calculations and add an unnecessary layer of uncertainty.
By using USD Coin (USDC) for margin and settlement, we are directly addressing the issue of collateral volatility.
This allows you to focus on your trading strategy with a clearer picture of your risk profile, all while still accessing leverage of up to 175x.
How our new USDC-M perpetuals work
If you're familiar with our existing USDT-M contracts, the transition will feel natural. USDC-M Perpetual Contracts are linear contracts that use USDC as the collateral and settlement currency.
For settlement, all profits, losses, and fees are calculated and settled in USDC. For funding, these Perpetual Contracts' funding fees are exchanged between long and short position holders every 8 hours to keep the contract price anchored to the spot price.
That being said, we continue to utilize our institutional-grade matching engines and transparent, real-time Profit and Loss (P&L) calculations to ensure a seamless and reliable trading experience around the clock.
This structure is designed for capital efficiency, ensuring your funds are deployed precisely where you intend them to be.
