TOKEN2049 plans to bring senior figures from some of the largest traditional financial institutions to Singapore in October, placing Wall Street’s expanding role in digital assets at the center of one of the industry’s biggest annual gatherings. Organizers project that 25,000 people from more than 7,000 companies and 160 countries will attend the conference at Marina Bay Sands on 7–8 October 2026.
The event is expected to occupy all five floors of Marina Bay Sands for conference sessions, exhibition space and on-site programming. TOKEN2049 said it is targeting 500 exhibitors, 300 speakers and more than 1,000 side events across the wider Singapore conference week.
That scale would make the event a concentrated meeting point for crypto-native companies, asset managers, trading firms, technology developers and policymakers. The expected presence of leaders from BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, the New York Stock Exchange, CME Group and Franklin Templeton reflects how digital-asset products have moved further into the operations of established financial groups.
Wall Street figures join crypto founders on the agenda
The first 100 speakers announced by TOKEN2049 include Shayne Coplan, founder and chief executive of prediction-market platform Polymarket; Jeff Yan, co-founder of Hyperliquid Labs; and Adena Friedman, chief executive of Nasdaq.
Jenny Johnson, president and chief executive of Franklin Templeton, is also listed among the early speakers. Franklin Templeton has become one of several large asset managers offering tokenized fund products and digital-asset investment vehicles, making Johnson’s participation relevant to discussions over how conventional funds could use blockchain-based settlement and ownership records.
Other announced names include Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization; Raoul Pal, co-founder and chief executive of Real Vision; and Tom Lee, head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors. The mix of speakers suggests the conference will again combine market infrastructure, tokenization, trading, policy and public-facing crypto commentary rather than focus narrowly on one blockchain sector.
TOKEN2049 co-founder Raphael Strauch said more than 70% of the exhibition floor had already been secured. Strong early demand for physical space can matter for an event of this kind because companies use the conference to arrange product launches, partnership meetings and private negotiations away from the main stage.
Singapore’s role as a regional meeting ground
Singapore has remained a preferred venue for global digital-asset conferences because it can draw participants from Asia, Europe, the United States and the Middle East in one location. TOKEN2049 Week is designed to extend beyond the two-day flagship conference, turning the city into a venue for parallel events, closed-door meetings, developer workshops and investor gatherings.
Organizers expect more than 1,000 events across the week, including hackathons, meetups, networking receptions and smaller conferences. The calendar currently includes Digital Asset Summit Asia, Sui Basecamp, the Network State Conference, the Milken Institute Asia Summit and the Forbes Global CEO Conference.
A crowded schedule creates competition for attention, but it also gives companies a reason to send larger delegations. A fund manager can meet tokenization issuers, stablecoin operators and custody providers in the same week, while early-stage teams can combine technical events with meetings involving potential commercial partners.
The number of parallel programs also illustrates how the market’s major conversations have become less confined to token prices. Infrastructure providers, financial institutions and software developers increasingly need to coordinate around custody, compliance, settlement systems and on-chain financial products. Those subjects are likely to feature prominently alongside the more familiar discussions around trading and market cycles.
Hackathon and startup competition return
TOKEN2049 will also hold the second edition of TOKEN2049 Origins, a 36-hour hackathon intended for developers building new products during the conference week. Organizers said registrations and applications for the event are in the thousands and ahead of the previous year’s pace.
The NEXUS Startup Competition will return as another part of the 2026 program. Finalists are set to be assessed by representatives from venture firms Dragonfly, Multicoin Capital and Maelstrom. Startup contests at major conferences can offer young companies a faster route to meetings with venture funds, ecosystem foundations and potential customers, although selection by a prominent judging panel does not guarantee later funding or commercial success.
The hackathon and competition give the conference a practical counterweight to its executive-heavy speaker roster. Large financial firms may be shaping demand for regulated digital-asset products, while developer teams continue to build the underlying applications, wallets, protocols and user tools that determine whether blockchain systems reach beyond specialist markets.
Institutional participation comes with a different agenda
The expected attendance of executives from banks, exchanges and asset managers does not mean traditional finance has taken control of the digital-asset market. Crypto trading, software development and protocol governance remain distributed across a wide range of companies and communities. Yet the presence of institutions such as BlackRock, J.P. Morgan and Franklin Templeton places greater emphasis on products that can fit established financial rules and operational standards.
That can shift the tone of industry events. Discussions are more likely to focus on regulated funds, tokenized securities, stablecoin payments, custody arrangements and market infrastructure than on purely speculative token launches. It also gives crypto companies direct access to potential partners with global distribution networks, established client bases and experience navigating financial regulation.
For Singapore, TOKEN2049’s ability to convene that mix remains part of the draw. The event has become larger than a standard conference: it functions as a temporary marketplace for capital, talent, infrastructure deals and public narratives around digital assets.
Organizers said “Happy Bird” tickets are available for a limited period, while a limited number of exhibition and partnership opportunities remain. The final speaker list and event schedule will determine how far TOKEN2049 can turn its projected institutional turnout into substantive discussions on the systems connecting traditional markets and blockchain-based finance.
