Early crypto projects publish testnet user tasks

Psy Protocol, Moss, and Umia have opened early user activities that give crypto users a way to test new products while building verified participation histories across wallets, social accounts, and on-chain transactions. The programs differ in purpose—from a privacy-focused Layer 1 testnet to an AI trading assistant and an issuance platform—but each relies on straightforward actions such as account linking, daily check-ins, and simulated activity.

The immediate opportunity is access to products that remain in testing or early rollout rather than a confirmed reward program. Users can complete the available tasks to explore the platforms, report problems through their communities, and establish an on-platform record before the products move toward broader releases.

Psy Protocol combines social tasks with a public testnet

Psy Protocol’s public testnet launched on Oct. 2, 2025, according to the project. The network describes itself as a Proof-of-Work privacy Layer 1, an unusual design choice in a market where most newer high-throughput chains use proof-of-stake systems.

The project has previously claimed that a running Proof-of-Work network reached roughly 521,000 transactions per second. That figure indicates Psy Protocol is aiming to pair transaction capacity with privacy features, though public testnet use will provide a more practical view of performance under varied user activity.

Users can enter the project’s “Psychonaut” task page at psy.xyz/psychonaut with either a crypto wallet or a Google email address. The activities section includes tasks to connect X and Discord accounts, alongside daily check-ins.

These tasks give the protocol a way to distinguish recurring users from one-time visitors while also concentrating community activity around its official channels. Linking accounts is common in testnet campaigns because it creates a participation profile across social platforms and wallets, though users should consider the privacy trade-offs of connecting multiple identities to a single project account.

RootData lists Psy Protocol as having raised $9 million, with Blockchain Capital among the participating firms. The funding figure places the testnet program within a project that has already attracted institutional backing, while the public tasks offer a lower-cost route for users who want to examine the network directly.

Moss offers prompt-based trading automation

Moss is taking a different approach, using a browser extension to help users convert written trading instructions into automated agent configurations. The product is intended for users who may understand a market strategy but do not write code or build algorithmic systems from scratch.

The setup can incorporate several parameters often used in automated trading, including leverage, long or short preferences, entry conditions, stop-loss multiples, and the weighting assigned to market signals. In practice, that means a user could describe a strategy in plain language and use the tool to organize its rules into an automated structure.

Access is currently routed through Moss’s Chrome extension, available through the Chrome Web Store. Users log in through an X account, and the extension includes daily check-ins that award “diamond points.”

The product’s appeal lies in reducing the gap between a trading idea and a testable set of instructions. Yet automation does not remove market risk. A strategy can be clearly expressed, properly configured, and still perform poorly when market conditions change or when assumptions about liquidity, volatility, or execution prove wrong.

Users testing Moss may find the early environment most useful for examining how the assistant interprets prompts. A written instruction such as “enter after a price threshold” can contain ambiguities around timing, data sources, position size, and exit rules. Reviewing those details before using any real capital remains more valuable than simply accumulating daily check-in points.

Umia tests token issuance and governance flows

Umia’s testnet focuses on a separate part of the crypto stack: the creation and administration of early-stage token projects. The platform is designed to support workflows covering legal formation, token issuance, and ongoing governance.

The project said its testnet became available on July 31. Users can access it at app.testnet.umia.finance, log in, and claim test tokens through the interface. The active on-chain task involves using those tokens in an auction activity.

Test tokens hold no stated monetary value, but auction participation gives users a chance to interact with the application’s transaction flow. That can expose practical issues that are difficult to detect in internal testing, including wallet-connection errors, failed transactions, confusing user-interface steps, and the way a governance or issuance process behaves when several users act at once.

Umia’s model places token creation alongside organizational processes that are often handled through separate services. Bringing issuance and governance functions into one on-chain environment could make the platform relevant to teams seeking a more integrated operational tool, although the testnet remains an early technical proving ground rather than a finished production system.

Participation records are becoming part of product testing

Across all three platforms, the common thread is the use of lightweight activity records to organize early users. Psy Protocol asks participants to connect social accounts and return for daily check-ins. Moss uses an X login and a points-based check-in system. Umia requires testnet access and an on-chain auction interaction.

These routines can help developers identify active users, collect feedback, and observe how people navigate a product without asking every tester to complete a complex technical process. On-chain tasks also create a public record of interaction on the relevant test network, while social links can help projects maintain community communication.

Users should treat such activity as product testing, not as a guaranteed path to a future distribution. Testnet programs can change their requirements, reset data, alter scoring systems, or end without assigning monetary value to participation. The most defensible reason to take part is to gain hands-on familiarity with the products and contribute useful feedback while the teams are still refining their systems.

For users who choose to participate, the practical considerations are simple: use testnet assets only where required, verify that links lead to the official sites or Chrome Web Store listing, and avoid sharing seed phrases or private keys. A testnet task should never require access to a wallet’s recovery phrase, and connecting a wallet does not require granting unlimited token approvals.

Psy Protocol’s network testing, Moss’s prompt-driven automation interface, and Umia’s auction workflow each offer a different view of how early crypto products are trying to turn community participation into usable technical feedback. The daily tasks may be simple, but the more revealing part of these programs will be whether the projects can convert that early engagement into resilient, usable products.
