Gram price prediction 2026

Toobit

Gram (GRAM) might be the only cryptocurrency with enough real-world reach to challenge traditional banks without asking for permission. Right now, financial institutions are focusing on exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for cryptos such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

Out of Telegram's 1 billion monthly users, about 150 million have already set up built-in wallets. That means millions of everyday users are keeping digital cash right inside their daily chat app.

Most financial analysts dismiss messaging platforms as simple social tools. On the other hand, Telegram has effectively created a global bank hidden in plain sight.

Regulators tried to crush this project years ago, but its survival proves that true user adoption cares very little about legal court battles. Forget standard price charts, Gram's next chapter is a global money experiment playing out on phone screens everywhere.

What is Gram (GRAM)?

It serves as the native digital currency powering The Open Network (TON), designed specifically for Telegram's extensive ecosystem. Gram handles peer-to-peer transfers, decentralized storage fees, and in-app purchases at lightning speeds.

The platform also anchors all custom ecosystem assets, called Jettons. These drive Telegram's growing universe of mini-apps.

Telegram's founders originally created the token in 2017. A high-profile U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit however halted the project in 2020.

Independent developers quickly saved the open-source code, using special Giver smart contracts to distribute the initial supply to the public.

The network runs on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validation to keep energy consumption minimal and transaction speed high. Dynamic sharding splits busy pathways into smaller chains, enabling asynchronous parallel processing across thousands of applications.

Validators earn annual inflation yields to protect overall ledger security. To balance this emission, the network burns a slice of base transaction fees.

This includes activity generated across custom Jettons assets. As a result, it creates a natural deflationary push during heavy usage.

The recent Catchain 2.0 consensus upgrade slashed user fees to fractions of a cent while boosting transaction speeds tenfold. That near-instant speed lets people send digital cash across chats as easily as typing a quick text.

How GRAM works

Gram operates as a decentralized account system where every wallet functions as an independent smart contract. This setup processes transactions through direct asynchronous messages rather than forcing transactions into a single queue.

To handle heavy activity, the system divides computational tasks across three structural components. These technical layers keep operations organized across the entire ecosystem:

  • Masterchain: Manages core validator parameters, network settings, and overall state finality.

  • Workchains: Support custom smart contract environments and distinct application rules.

  • Shardchains: Partition transactions automatically whenever traffic spikes across the network.

The TON Virtual Machine runs contract code using stack-based calculations for rapid data processing. Instant Hypercube Routing delivers messages between separate shards within milliseconds to maintain system speed.

This parallel engine directly powers Gram's daily utility across micro-payments and integrated social services. High transaction capacity and low network costs build a strong operational base for upcoming market growth.

Gram price history and performance overview

GRAM price history

GRAM was previously Toncoin, which was available for trading on centralized exchanges (CEX) on August 26, 2021. It quickly hit its all-time low (ATL) of  $0.3906 after less than a month from its launch.

Early miners who accumulated tokens through open-source Giver contracts quickly sold their holdings when exchange listings opened up market liquidity. This sudden selling pressure far outpaced initial buying demand, pushing the price down to its historic low.

The downturn proved short-lived, however, as GRAM recovered to $4.20 by November 18, 2021, more than ten times its previous low. Major centralized exchange (CEX) listings, attractive staking rewards, and growing optimism about Telegram integration helped fuel the rally.

It would not be until June 15, 2024 however that it would reach its all-time high (ATH) of $8.24. Explosive growth from Telegram mini-apps, native USDT payments, and major institutional funding pushed GRAM to its peak.

When it comes to its highest market capitalization, this now top 30 coin reached $24.3 billion on May 16, 2024. Pantera Capital backing and Telegram's Notcoin mini-app launch boosted demand across the ecosystem, pushing it to its record market valuation.

GRAM's latest performance

The structure on GRAM’s 1-month price chart appears that it is on a downtrend. It has made lower highs since its September 28, 2026 local top but is still up 1.85%.

GRAM could register a lower low around the $1.40 level. This is the same zone that has been flipping between support and resistance within the last 30 days.

Gram to USD live price chart on October 7, 2026, 18:10 UTC+0  from Toobit

The first week of October had GRAM trading between $1.433 and $1.578. A relief rally is likely to happen soon though the general direction is still bearish.

Its market capitalization stayed within $4.01 billion and $4.43 billion during this same period. GRAM managed to reach $4.75 billion as its highest market valuation within a 1-month duration on September 28, 2026.

Current market snapshot (October 8, 2026, 2:28 UTC+8)

In the last 24 hours, GRAM has been exhibiting strong bearish movement. It is currently down 6.90% and trading $1.431.

This places its price around 265.44% above its ATL. At the same time, this would now put it about 82.67% below its ATH.

GRAM/USDT 4-hour spot trading chart from Toobit

Its lower Bollinger band on the 4-hour time frame is noticeably being stretched. A recent $2,000 BTC flash crash erased about $400 million in leveraged long crypto positions influenced the move.

GRAM was trading as high as $1.540 before the liquidations started. As the day wore on however, it would drop by 8.11% to as low as $1.415.

Its market cap likewise suffered a noticeable drop along with the latest liquidations in the crypto market. This now stands at $4.03 billion, down 6.94% in the last 24 hours.

Roughly 46.38% of GRAM’s 5.26 billion total supply has yet to enter circulation. This token dilution can still increase however as there is yet no limit set for its maximum supply.

Crypto Fear and Greed Index on October 7, 2026 from Alternative.me

Despite the recent downturn, the market sentiment for crypto Fear & Greed Index remains strong. Bitcoin and other large cryptocurrencies remain in full greed territory for the month, with yesterday’s reading at 71 (Greed).

Sentiment seems unaffected by the flash crash, though caution at this time may be prudent. The market has enjoyed multiple bullish weeks and a correction in the short term seems likely.

On-chain and technical analysis

Support and resistance

Based on the current 4-hour GRAM chart, the $1.42 level is now being tested as near-term support. The recent candles are currently testing a previous area of price reaction from late September.

The next support sits at around $1.39. It aligns with the lower portion of price consolidation from late September and could attract buyers if $1.42 fails.

On the upside, $1.46 is the near-term resistance where price previously consolidated and reversed before the latest decline. The next resistance level is at around $1.52 where several recent rallies stalled and sellers repeatedly appeared.

The current bearish momentum favors a test of $1.42 and potentially $1.39. This is particularly because the price has fallen sharply from the $1.55 to $1.60 area.

GRAM is now trading near the lower end of its recent range.

Momentum indicators

GRAM’s 4-hour Relative Strength Indicator (RSI) is hovering right above oversold territory at 31.24 RSI. It could likely pierce below the 30 RSI line to gather momentum on the way back up.

Exhausted sellers would give way to a possible relief rally for the bulls. This does not mean however that the short-term momentum has flipped bullish.

GRAM/USDT 4-hour RSI chart from Toobit

The overall crypto market could likely be at the beginning stages of a downtrend. This may pull GRAM back, but it remains a short-term cooling period in a larger bullish cycle.

Its 4-hour Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator is now reaching deep into negative territory. GRAM’s blue MACD line sits below at -0.020 while its orange signal line is following above at -0.008.

GRAM/USDT 4-hour MACD chart from Toobit

The MACD line slipping below its signal line points to heavy short-term selling pressure. However, dipping this deep into negative territory often signals oversold conditions that could spark a quick relief bounce.

Moving averages and volume

At $1.431, GRAM remains below its 50-period moving average (MA) at $1.515 in a clear sign of short-term weakness. The 100 MA at $1.503 sits right beside it, turning the $1.500 to $1.515  area into a heavy overhead ceiling for any rally.

Meanwhile, price has dipped just under the 200 MA at $1.437, making this the key area for buyers trying to regain control. Being positioned below all three averages keeps the immediate technical setup under bearish pressure.

Reclaiming $1.437 and breaking back above $1.503 to $1.515 would repair the chart and spark renewed upside momentum. Conversely, staying stuck below $1.437 threatens further downside before a real recovery can begin.

GRAM’s 24-hour trading volume was up 66.73% to $92.5 million on October 8, 2026. In the last 7 days, GRAM’s trading volume across all exchanges moved between $40.3 million to $94.6 million.

On-chain cues

Network adoption is expanding rapidly, with total wallet addresses approaching 197 million. Over 111,000 new accounts join the ecosystem every single day.

Gram staking rewards analytics on October 8, 2026 from Tonviewer.com

Daily activity stays vibrant as the network processes roughly 3.58 million transactions. This volume includes over 200,000 token transfers and 25,000 NFT movements.

Around 2.82 billion GRAM or 54% of the total supply currently circulates in the market. Long-term holders demonstrate strong commitment by staking 1.37 billion GRAM for a 17% yield.

Market liquidity remains solid along with $122 million in open interest. Crucially, simple transfers and text comments drive nearly 30% of all activity, proving genuine everyday use.

Gram price prediction and outlook

Gram is at a key turning point where everyday chat utility meets unpredictable crypto markets. Even with short-term selling pressure on the charts, growing ecosystem tools give the token strong ground for future growth.

Bull case ($3.50 to $5.20)

Telegram directly running network operations and launching AI Agentic Wallets could attract higher demand in utility. Reclaiming key resistance levels above $1.52 would open a path toward testing previous multi-dollar highs during this bullish cycle.

Base case ($1.80 to $2.60)

Steady onboarding from over 111,000 new daily users will likely support a gradual price recovery as market sentiment stabilizes. Overcoming overhead MA resistance near $1.51 allows the token to establish a firm trading range above its recent floor.

Bear case ($0.80 to $1.25)

Ongoing market-wide flash crashes and global economic uncertainty could push prices below the critical $1.39 support line. Unreleased token supply entering circulation might add extra selling pressure, extending the short-term cooling period.

Succeeding with Gram comes down to pairing short-term technical risk with Telegram’s massive user reach. Holding the $1.39 floor while eyeing a breakout above $1.46 will signal if real app activity is driving the next trend shift.

FAQs

Do holders need to swap or migrate original Toncoin balances to receive Gram?

No manual token swap or migration is required for current asset holders. Wallet balances and addresses updated automatically on exchanges and self-custodial apps following the governance vote.

How does Gram power Telegram's Fragment collectible auctions?

Users place direct Gram bids to buy rare Telegram usernames and virtual phone numbers. Winning bids convert these digital items into collectible tokens owned directly in the buyer's wallet.

Does Telegram directly own or control the Gram blockchain network?

Telegram acts as a key commercial partner that integrates Gram features into its app interface. The independent TON Foundation and open-source network validators govern overall network rules and core development.

What are Jettons and how do they interact with Gram?

Jettons represent custom tokens built on the network, functioning like ERC-20 tokens on other blockchains. Every transaction involving a Jetton uses small amounts of Gram to cover processing fees.

Can everyday users stake Gram without running validator hardware?

Yes, holders can delegate their Gram balances directly to official nominator pools or wallet earn programs. These pools combine user deposits to support ledger security and distribute daily rewards back to participants.

How does the network prevent processing bottlenecks during high-traffic events?

The protocol automatically splits heavily active shardchains into smaller sub-chains when traffic rises. This dynamic splitting keeps processing lines open and prevents transaction backlogs.

Money built for messaging

Gram proves that crypto works best when it fits naturally into apps people already use every single day. Surviving early legal battles and moving into community hands only sharpened its mission to deliver real-world utility.

Beyond fast speeds lies a practical asset powering daily digital transactions for millions of chat users. As messaging apps turn into payment tools, Gram makes handling money in daily life easy.
