Axis opens Origin Vault deposits with 10.4% yield

2026-07-30 04:41

Axis has opened deposits for its Origin Vault with a $50 million cap, reporting more than $37 million deposited while advertising a 10.4% yield. The vault’s early intake puts it more than three-quarters of the way to its stated limit, but participants face a constrained exit schedule: deposits are locked for 30 days, and funds become reclaimable seven days after a withdrawal request.

The structure places a premium on liquidity planning. A quoted yield can draw deposits quickly, especially when capacity is limited, yet the lock and withdrawal process means users may not be able to access capital immediately if market conditions change. With roughly $13 million of the stated capacity remaining, Origin Vault’s cap could also make the product less accessible to users waiting to assess its performance before depositing.

Axis did not provide further details in the supplied announcement on the source of the vault’s yield, the assets accepted for deposit, or the mechanics used to generate returns. Those details will shape how users assess the 10.4% figure, since yield strategies can carry different forms of smart-contract, market, liquidity, and counterparty exposure.

Funding round preceded the Origin Vault launch

The vault opening follows Axis’s previously disclosed $5 million private funding round in December 2025. Galaxy Ventures led the financing, which Axis said was four times oversubscribed.

Named participants included OKX Ventures, FalconX, GSR, Maven 11, CMS Holdings, and Marc Zeller of Aave Chan Initiative. The group combines venture firms with market-making and digital-asset trading organizations, giving Axis connections across several parts of the cryptocurrency market.

A private round does not itself establish the reliability or risk profile of a yield product. It does provide the protocol with additional operating capital as it develops products such as Origin Vault and seeks to manage the demands that come with growing deposits. A vault approaching a hard cap also creates operational pressure around reporting, withdrawal handling, and the durability of its underlying strategy.

The $37 million reported for Origin Vault represents a substantially larger sum than the $5 million equity financing Axis disclosed in December. The comparison does not mean the protocol has raised $37 million in venture capital; vault deposits remain user funds subject to the product’s terms, while the private round was funding provided to the company or protocol team. The difference matters when considering the scale of assets a newly launched product may be responsible for managing.

Axis Robotics closes separate $12 million seed round

Separately, Axis Robotics said on July 28 that it had completed a $12 million seed round led by Hack VC. Nomad Capital, Pi Core Team Ventures, 10K Ventures, and angel backers also participated, according to the company.

Axis Robotics describes itself as a Physical AI and robotics data-infrastructure business. Its approach combines large-scale simulation, first-person real-world data collection, and human-in-the-loop post-training workflows. Physical AI generally refers to systems designed to perceive and act in real-world environments, including robotics applications where models must work with visual, spatial, and task-based data rather than text alone.

The company has also published a mission system through which users can log in, complete available tasks, and earn points. Axis Robotics said it plans an X-based creator program that would distribute points. The company did not state in the supplied materials whether points carry cash value, represent ownership, or will be exchangeable for tokens or other benefits.

The task model gives Axis Robotics a way to organize and reward community participation around data-related work. For a company focused on training and post-training robotics systems, the usefulness of that system will depend on the quality and relevance of missions, not simply the number of completed tasks. Simulation can supply large volumes of synthetic scenarios, while first-person capture and human feedback can help address the gap between controlled training environments and unpredictable physical settings.

Despite sharing the Axis name, the supplied announcements do not establish a corporate, financial, or technical connection between Axis and Axis Robotics. Their reported activities also differ: Axis is offering a capped cryptocurrency yield vault, while Axis Robotics is building data infrastructure and participation tools for robotics-focused AI development.

Orbinum opens a privacy-focused testnet

Orbinum Network, meanwhile, said on July 16 that its testnet had gone live for a privacy infrastructure product built on Substrate with full Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility. The project’s stated design includes a zero-knowledge shielded pool and selective disclosure features.

A shielded pool is designed to conceal transaction details by allowing assets to move through privacy-preserving contracts. Zero-knowledge cryptography allows a user to prove that a transaction is valid without publicly revealing all of the underlying information. Selective disclosure would allow users to reveal specified information when needed, rather than making all activity permanently visible by default.

EVM compatibility could allow developers familiar with Ethereum’s smart-contract environment to build or deploy applications for Orbinum without working in an entirely separate programming and tooling ecosystem. Substrate provides the framework on which the network is being built, while EVM support is intended to make the chain more accessible to Ethereum-oriented applications.

Orbinum’s community portal instructs testnet participants to connect a wallet, register a nickname, and link social accounts before accessing a Daily Reward check-in. Users are also directed to complete quests and obtain test tokens through the project’s faucet for basic on-chain interactions.

Testnet tokens are generally intended for experimentation and do not carry the same function as production-network assets. The available participation flow gives Orbinum a way to test wallet connections, account onboarding, faucet distribution, and contract interactions before any mainnet deployment. It also creates an early user base able to identify friction in privacy-related transactions, where the user experience can be more complex than a standard public transfer.

Across the three announcements, the immediate activity is concentrated in distinct areas: capped on-chain yield products, robotics data collection, and privacy-network testing. Origin Vault has already attracted reported deposits close to its capacity, while Axis Robotics and Orbinum are building participation systems that rely on users completing structured tasks.
