How to fix a wrong withdrawal network or asset

2026-09-17 10:58

Beginner

Selected the wrong asset or blockchain network for a withdrawal? What you can do next mainly depends on whether the withdrawal has already been completed on-chain.

If the withdrawal is still pending and can be canceled, you may be able to correct the details before trying again. Once the transaction has been completed on-chain, however, it generally cannot be reversed. Whether the funds can be recovered will then depend on the receiving wallet or platform and the network used.

What should you check first?

Start by checking your withdrawal history on Toobit. The withdrawal status will tell you whether there is still an opportunity to cancel the transaction.

If the withdrawal is pending and a cancellation option is available, cancel it before making any changes. You can then check the asset, network, withdrawal address, and memo or tag, if required, before submitting a new withdrawal.

If the transaction has already been sent on-chain, avoid sending another withdrawal to try to correct the first one. Instead, save the transaction ID (TxID) and check the transaction details. Your TxID can help you confirm the network used, destination address, amount, and on-chain status. You can also check your withdrawal status to see where the transfer stands.

What is the difference between choosing the wrong asset and the wrong network?

Although these mistakes can lead to a similar result, they are not the same.

Wrong asset: The receiving wallet or platform expected one asset, but you sent a different asset.

Wrong network: You sent the correct asset, but used a blockchain network that the receiving wallet or platform may not support for that deposit.

In either case, the transaction may be successfully completed on-chain without the funds being automatically credited to the receiving account. What happens next depends on the asset, network, wallet type, and whether the receiving platform can access and recover the funds at the destination address.

What should you do if you selected the wrong asset?

If the withdrawal is still pending and can be canceled, cancel it and start a new withdrawal with the correct asset.

If it has already been completed on-chain, save the TxID along with the withdrawal address, asset, amount, and transfer time. You will then need to contact the receiving wallet provider or platform to ask whether recovery is possible.

Once a withdrawal has been processed on-chain, Toobit generally cannot reverse the transaction from the sending side. This is why it is important to confirm that the destination supports the exact asset you are sending before submitting a withdrawal.

What should you do if you selected the wrong network?

Some assets, including USDT, can be transferred through multiple blockchain networks. The network you select on Toobit needs to be supported by the receiving wallet or platform.

For example, if the receiving platform supports USDT deposits on one network but you withdraw USDT through another, the blockchain transaction may still succeed even though the deposit is not automatically credited.

If the withdrawal is still pending and can be canceled, cancel it and select the correct network before submitting it again.

If it has already been completed, use the TxID to confirm which network was used and contact the receiving wallet provider or platform. Recovery may be possible in some cases, but this depends on whether the receiving side has the technical and operational ability to recover the funds.

You can also view the block information for your transaction to confirm its network and on-chain status.

What if you entered the wrong memo, tag, or payment ID?

Some assets require both a wallet address and an additional identifier, such as a memo, tag, or payment ID. This identifier helps the receiving platform determine which account should be credited.

If the required information was missing or incorrect, the transaction may still be completed on-chain without appearing in your receiving account.

Keep the TxID, destination address, and correct memo or tag information, then contact the receiving platform for assistance. The funds are not necessarily lost, but once the transaction is complete, correcting the information may require manual review by the receiving side.

What if all the withdrawal details are correct?

A missing deposit does not always mean something went wrong with the withdrawal.

If the asset, network, address, and memo or tag are all correct, the transfer may simply be taking longer than expected. Blockchain congestion, confirmation requirements, processing times on the receiving platform, or a temporary deposit suspension can all affect when the funds appear.

Check the TxID to confirm the transaction's on-chain status and whether deposits are available on the receiving platform. Sending another transaction will not speed up the original transfer.

Before making your next withdrawal, you can review the steps for withdrawing crypto from Toobit on web or app.

How can you avoid choosing the wrong asset or network?

Before confirming a withdrawal, take a moment to check:

  • The asset you are withdrawing

  • The blockchain network selected

  • The full withdrawal address

  • Whether a memo, tag, or payment ID is required

  • Whether you want to make a small test withdrawal first

A small test withdrawal can be useful when sending assets to a new wallet or platform for the first time. Once you confirm that the test amount has arrived correctly, you can proceed with the remaining amount.

What information should you prepare if you need help?

If the withdrawal has already been completed and you need assistance, prepare the following information:

  • Toobit UID

  • Asset

  • Withdrawal amount

  • Blockchain network

  • Withdrawal address

  • TxID

  • Memo or tag, if applicable

  • Withdrawal time

Having these details ready can help our support team identify the transaction and review what happened more efficiently.

Act before the withdrawal goes on-chain

The most important thing is to check whether the withdrawal can still be canceled. If it has not been completed on-chain, you may still be able to correct the details and submit a new withdrawal.

Once the transaction is complete, it generally cannot be reversed. From that point, any potential recovery will depend on the receiving platform, the network used, and whether recovery is technically possible.
