Eddid Financial recognized for RWA leadership
Eddid Financial has received the “Professional Services Award in RWA” at the HKCT Business Awards in Hong Kong, underscoring its role in the fast-growing real-world assets (RWA) tokenisation market.
The award, focused on regulated tokenization services, was based on four criteria: corporate achievements, market competitiveness, brand philosophy, and professional standing.
Award underscores progress in regulated tokenization
The HKCT Business Awards, held annually, evaluate companies across multiple sectors in Hong Kong to promote innovation and operational excellence.
Judges reviewed Eddid Financial’s compliance framework, service structure, and its broader contribution to the digital asset ecosystem before granting the honor, highlighting the importance of regulatory rigor as RWA markets scale.
Licensing upgrades enable full RWA service chain
Since upgrading its licences in September 2023, Eddid Financial’s subsidiaries have held Type 1 and Type 9 authorizations in Hong Kong. These licences allow the group to distribute tokenized securities and other RWA products.
The firm has since built an end-to-end service chain that spans:
- asset evaluation
- compliance auditing
- product and structure design
- distribution and post-launch support
This integrated model is aimed at shortening project timelines while maintaining regulatory compliance.
First projects: silver-backed and agricultural tokens
Eddid Financial’s first flagship project involved a partnership with Timeless Resources Holdings and HashKey Chain to launch what it describes as Hong Kong’s first silver-backed RWA.
Each token represents one ounce of physical silver held by an independent trustee. The product design was reviewed by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, which raised no further comments, signaling regulatory comfort with the structure.
In a separate initiative with CAC Fintech, the firm helped create what is described as China’s first agricultural RWA. The project tokenized:
- agricultural products
- land operating rights
- projected agricultural revenues
The goal is to improve liquidity and funding access for agricultural assets, historically constrained by traditional financing channels.
Research and “technology + compliance + ecosystem” model
Beyond transactions, Eddid Financial has published a research paper, Core Guide to RWA: From Basic Theory to Global Practice.
Operationally, the company applies a “technology + compliance + ecosystem” approach that coordinates:
- asset owners
- service providers
- custodians and trustees
- licensed trading venues
These participants are linked through a unified digital framework intended to ensure traceability, compliance, and standardization across RWA projects.
Focus on cross-border and standardized RWA growth
Looking ahead, Eddid Financial says it will continue to expand real-asset tokenization while maintaining strict adherence to Hong Kong’s regulatory architecture.
Its stated priorities include:
- advancing standardized documentation and processes
- supporting cross-border RWA structures
- accelerating digitalization of physical assets across the region
RWA tokenization market accelerates globally
Eddid Financial’s award comes amid rapid expansion of the global RWA tokenization market. From early 2025 to the end of March 2026, the total market capitalization of tokenized real-world assets has more than tripled to about 19.3 billion US dollars.
This pace has significantly outstripped the growth of stablecoins, signalling that on-chain representations of traditional assets are emerging as a distinct pillar of digital finance.
Commodities and Treasuries lead RWA categories
The firm’s silver-backed product reflects a broader surge in commodity-backed tokens. Tokenized commodities grew 289 percent to reach around 5.55 billion US dollars in the first quarter of 2026. Gold-backed tokens accounted for nearly 90 percent of that category’s increase, but silver and other commodities are beginning to gain traction.
At the same time, tokenized government securities are becoming a core building block for on-chain yields. On-chain tokenized US Treasuries reached roughly 13.4 billion US dollars by early April 2026, offering regulated, yield-generating instruments backed by one of the most established asset classes globally.
Institutional involvement pushes market beyond experimentation
Large financial institutions are helping move RWAs from pilot projects toward scalable products. BlackRock, for example, has reportedly increased its real-world asset holdings by about 700 million US dollars since the start of 2026 and expanded tokenized funds across multiple blockchains.
This institutional involvement is reinforcing RWAs as part of mainstream capital markets infrastructure rather than isolated experiments.
Regulatory focus in Hong Kong supports RWA adoption
Hong Kong is positioning itself as a regulated hub for digital assets and RWAs. Authorities are preparing a significant overhaul of the city’s digital asset framework and plan to introduce legislation establishing a licensing regime for digital asset trading within the year.
This push toward clearer oversight is expected to channel more attention and capital to tokenized assets that meet regulatory standards, particularly in categories such as commodities and fixed income.
RWA performance during market stress draws attention
The resilience of RWAs during periods of broader market volatility is also being closely watched. In April 2026, the tokenized real-world asset market grew by more than 4 percent even as wider digital asset markets declined.
For traders, this divergence suggests that tokenized assets backed by physical goods or government securities may be perceived as relatively more stable holdings when sentiment toward higher-risk digital tokens weakens.
Against this backdrop, Eddid Financial’s recognition at the HKCT Business Awards highlights both its own role in the sector and Hong Kong’s broader push to anchor RWA innovation within a regulated, institution-friendly framework.
