• What is BAND?

  Band Protocol is an oracle cross-chain platform which can take real-world information and provide it to applications on the blockchain. It also connects APIs with smart contracts to facilitate data exchange between on-chain sources and off-chain sources.
  Band Protocol enables developers to explore a wide range of new uses by supplying reliable, verifiable data to Blockchains. Developers can now use real-world information in their Decentralized Application (DApp) logic including sports, weather data, random numbers, and price feed data.
  Band Protocol 2.0 was released in June 2020 as a Cosmos network project, originally launched in September 2019 as an ERC-20 on the Ethereum Blockchain. The new protocol was built using the Cosmos SDK on BandChain. Oracle nodes on BandChain not only relay data but are also involved in block production/validation, giving them a dual role.
  BAND is a native token in the Band Protocol Ecosystem. It is used by validators to fulfill data requests and as the primary medium of exchange for BandChain - used to pay for private data.
